Hi all,
The drive home was scary last night. Merry can't drive at night, and I was completely spent, with a roaring headache from not drinking enough water!! I swear the F3 was a total blur!!
Tense, exciting game, we did enough to take advantage of our precious away goal. Both teams defended very well. Credit to Thompson for a great goal, and to Sonic for bullet of a header.
The Squadron really turned up, well done to them, they were very good and made a difference. When Pollock told me they were louder than us, jeez I got angry!!
Bay 16 was fascinating last night, and we will learn from this. Megaphones may be the answer.
Bring on Sydney or Adelaide!!

After watching the replay we didn't do too badly in the second half, yes it was still 1 of our worst performance but full credit to the way Newcastle approached the game. They came here with a plan and they stuck to it, defended deep and made our guys think. Great header from Heff too, yet again a pinpoint cross from Brownie boy he can cross a ball.
Danny shouldn't have been lobbed from where he was positioned really but yet again a goal from our left. I love Heffo but he really needs to be a midfielder. Wilko had another good game.

Yes Mick, aren't HS & Teri great value? Of course, Honey Soy is a dear friend, but she makes a deadly duo with the truly delightful Teriyaki!!

Well done to the Mariners for going through. Watched the game this morning and it was a pretty tense display after Thommo's goal. That disallowed goal at the end must have given you guys heart palpitations. Great turn up from the locals and the Jets fans. Would love to see a all NSW GF at the SFS.

omg i know who they are (honey soy and teriyaki) ok ok i know this is sad but i will be the first one to adimit it. the mariners are my life. i count down the days to the next game. its the only time i feel happy and i feel so much a part of the marinators as anyone else who sits with them each week.this is why i got a little emotional last night when we won (that and i was a little week from no sugar) I CRIED WHEN WE WON CAUSE I JUST COULDNT BELIEVE IT. a team that i follow so...........proudly (is that a word?) is going to the finals. im so happy......... you all probly think im sad for crying about this but im so emotional and it means heaps to me.......

same here on the headache. and just as it was going away, we scored...so after more yelling, it came back even stronger.
i dont think we played bad. newcastle were better than last week, yet i never felt we were going to lose. we played all over them, more so than last week. money did a good job by eliminating the weaknesses as WT said, he took corbo off, and made a couple of subs to avoid tired players, which cost them the game last week.
id like to know what the deal was with that handball deflection off that shot (i think it was tommy) in front of the goals early in the first half, should have been a penalty.
i hope adelaide lose, as i think we have a better chance of beating adelaide to get into the grand final, which would then be at sydney so we can all attend it.

Another one that was feeling the effects of not enough water/sugar last night a couple of times came close to passing out.. Well done AM on a top performance in trying circumstances, it really was a emotional roller coaster last night. Credit to seanpollock and froggy for trying to get the front of the bay singing together with those at the back

Wasnt the Best perfomance on the pitch but i must have to say it was the best draw i have ever seen, not on perfomance wise but the fact that we got through to next week.
I think Newcastle had the better chances but Brownie had two chances which the 2nd of those chances he should have buried but all credit to reddy again, as much as i hate him he had another good game but there was nothing he could do to stop sonics header.

After seeing it again I think Thompsons goal was quality and Dannys not to blame like WT said and Heff at the press conference he should have never had that much time.Brownies cross for heff was superb and well finished. The game was never going to be open free flowing thats not the way the Jets play and there was far to much at stake.Weve ground out results many times and we always seem to point out the negatives lets enjoy being in the last 3 and hopefully progress from here.

Once again, the heff saves us in the dieing minutes of a game. What a legend. They must practice it at training, but next time can they score it eirler at one stage i was thinking extra time But our Unbeaten streak rolls on to 11 My man of the match either goes to Heff or Meggsi, Heff had a great first half and a solid 2nd half and getting that goal was great and Meggsi done a great job at the back too

Heffernan For The Socceroo's, i think he's a wee bit unfortunate to be overlooked for the bahrain game. He's a solid defender as he showed on friday and he's also a bloody great attacker as he's shown all season

Like others in Bay 16, I had troubles with a dry throat and lack of fluids post match! Didn't dare leave my spot to grab a drink for fear of not getting back into bay! Agreed with comments about the goal that Newcastle scored. I prefer a goalie to be aggressive, and that means coming off the goal line. But you do leave yourself open to volley shots that are well placed. So no probs with that, bearing in mind the great performances Danny has put in this season. He is playing way above his age and I wish him well for the future as he may end up being the Socceroo goalie. One of Brownie's crosses finally paid off for Heff to snatch the draw. Good stuff. The team has been trying these crosses all season. Performance of team, overall, wasn't as good as we've seen, and the same could be said of The Marinators. The numbers in Bay 16 were causing problems with cohesion of the songs and chants, and that d****head with the whistle better lose it by next season. I actually thought I saw Osman pull up a second when the idiot blew it when Ossie was running up the flank on one attacking run (maybe thought he was offside?). A big credit to Auburn for trying all night & to Froggy and Sean for getting forward in the bay and getting better chanting and singing going. A win's a win, but I hope the team don't play like that next week.
