1) The gay porn image is a bit uncalled for, I wasnt aware sexual preference was a relevant issue when it came to supporting football teams - maybe I am wrong though???
2) Who really cares about AFL or RL when we are home - wearing a shirt supporting a club from another code?? If you really want to look like an idiot, try turning up wearing a Chavski or Manure shirt.
3) To the 12yo (presumably Jest fan). I know its hard but do try to be a bit more creative with your insults. Like that nice young Mr Goldjets. Now there is a scum fan who at least tries.

PACKER: MARINERS WILL LIFT FOR HOME CROWD Tuesday, 5 September, 2006 - 4:51PM
DESPITE the Central Coast Mariners being at the bad end of two defeats away from home in the first two rounds of the Hyundai A-League, Queensland Roar midfielder Andrew Packer has warned that their yellow and blue opponents will be a different team in front of their home crowd this weekend.
The Mariners have yet to find the back of the net so far this season, nor have they registered a point on the league’s ladder, but Packer has stressed that while the odds fall in his team’s favour, the game is not be something they will approach with nonchalance.
“This is going to be a very tough match – they’ve had a couple of losses away so far so they’ll be coming out firing,” said Packer.
“They’re a different team at home, they were last season, so we’re expecting a tough match and I think they’ll come at us right from the start.
“I think people can expect a much better display from them and I’m sure that Lawrie McKinna will be getting them fired up and ready to go.
“I’m quite surprised by their first two losses but I don’t think it’s panic stations for them – I think they’ll start getting results but that hopefully won’t be against us this week.”
But Packer did reveal that playing away from home in front of the Mariners home crowd would not be all bad.
“This game away will be tough, but Bluetongue Stadium is one of those grounds that everyone likes to play on. It’s beautiful there on the water and the pitch is always fantastic – I enjoyed playing there last season.
“But in terms of Central Coast’s performance, I am expecting a totally different team to what we’ve seen in the last two weeks.”
With Queensland Roar sitting in direct contrast to the Mariners on the ladder, Packer believes the experience and level heads injected into their side will ensure they don’t take their position for granted.
“We’re sitting at the top at the moment – we’ve played tough and had a good start but anything can change quickly,” said Packer.
“We’ve really just got to put the hard work in and take our chances every week –hopefully we can have as many wins as possible early on.
“A few of the boys are pretty excited with the way things are going, but they’ve all been excellent and focused and they know it can change.
“We worked a lot on slowing things down and speeding them up at the right times, during the pre-season. Just sticking to the game plan whether it’s the first minute or the 90th minute is something that the younger guys are learning – guys like Massimo and even Matt McKay – and they can still keep learning a lot in that regard.
“But that all comes from winning football matches and the more we do, the more they’ll learn to do those things.”

The post by Roarmeat is pathetic. The homophobia is disgraceful, and Comrade Adminstrators, could I ask that his post is deleted, please? Having our label superimposed on a Gay Porn film may seem funny to you, but it is you that is the joke, Roarmeat. To infer that all of us are homosexual is the act of an uneducated, ignorant bigot. There is nothing wrong with being gay, but to insinuate that our whole club is homosexual is NOT what you would expect from a grown man. Roarmeat, I think an apology is warranted on this occasion. I would be mortified if one of us did that on the Roar's forum whilst using the official Roar logo. Get an sense of humour then get a life... You don't see Cove or Tard supporters cry when they take the piss...I think some of you have a major inferiority complex. Lighten up! Feel free to post on our forum www.qldroarforums.com.au

who cares your gona lose 5 zip Wouldn't be too cocky....this is a special for a draw methinks. Mariners will be strong in defence and mids...not much fire power up front. Roar will be strong upfront and at the back. Whatever happens I think it will be a very tough game for both teams.

""Get an sense of humour then get a life... You don't see Cove or Tard supporters cry when they take the piss...I think some of you have a major inferiority complex. Lighten up! Feel free to post on our forum www.qldroarforums.com.au"" Roarmeat, without wishing to sound like an egotistical maniac, I have a reasonable sense of humour and I have an ENORMOUSLY full life (work, 5 kids, the Mariners, cricket). I can see how some would find this funny, actually. The fact that I don't is my business. I've made enough tasteless jokes in my time, one on this forum, to know when that invisible line has been stepped over. We do not have an inferiority complex, or a homophobic one for that matter. As a club with a fair record over the past 15 months, we have every right to be considered one of the A-League success stories so far. I'm not crying, far from it. Come to a game, have a drink with me and you will find I am no sook AND I can handle being sledged (unavoidable when you look like I do, I'm afraid!). In my line of work, any remarks or material like yours are a no-no, even when meant in jest, which I acknowledge yours was. I maintain that I would not desecrate your forum with a post like yours. Good luck to your lads this weekend, Mariners to win 3-2. Cheerio, AM

Gumprecht set for return Tuesday, 5 September, 2006 - 10:28PM Andre Gumprecht Andre Gumprecht
Mark Hughes, Sportal
The Central Coast Mariners coach Lawrie McKinna has indicated attacking midfielder Andre Gumprecht will almost certainly play in this weekend's Hyundai A-League clash against the top-of-the table Queensland Roar in Gosford.
Gumprecht missed the Mariners match against Perth Glory last weekend and the Central Coast seemed rudderless without the German's creativity in the middle of the park, losing 2-0.
But as of Tuesday's training he was a 90 per cent chance of returning to the team for this weekend's home fixture.
"We think Gumprecht will be OK," said McKinna at team training on Tuesday.
"He never trained fully today, he just did his own think just as a precaution but we expect him to be back to full training on Thursday."
However, defender Andrew Clark, who was forced from the field just 10 minutes into the clash with Perth is expected to be absent from the Mariners' line-up against the Roar.
"I don't think he will play this weekend," said McKinna. "He is pretty sore and sorry still - it is five days until the game and he still isn't walking properly."
"But we will check with the fitness on Thursday with Gumprecht and Clark and Sully (Wayne O'Sullivan) who is sick - he picked up a sickness bug on the way over (to Perth) so he was sick on the plane. So we will check how he is on Thursday as well."
Despite some good pre-season form, the Mariners have started their 2006/07 Hyundai A-League campaign with two straight losses, a tight 1-0 defeat to Sydney FC and dismal showing against Perth. And while last weekend's loss was ranked as one of the worst performances in the club's history, McKinna insists that no-one in the squad is dwelling on the result.
"Everyone felt good for the warm-up but felt flat during the game," he explained.
"It is just one game, we played well the week before against Sydney and should have won but it is just one game, we just have to forget it - it is as simple as that."
Lookin good for saturday night!!!!!!

Nicky before he got injured was in fine form, and he was supposed to be our star striker. Pity he got injured the week before the first season of the A-league, which was during the Pre-season Cup Final 2005. Definitely, the sooner he gets back the better. Hope the year+ break didn't affect him too much...
