is crawley still contracted? mori can replace crawley Nope we have Trott as a replacement for Crawley, and we would have to get rid of trott for that to happen and we dont want to go like newcastle and have only 1 keeper, so Boogs is the only person i can think of that would possibly be out for the rest of the season

How come there is no info on mori getting signed for the rest of the season on the mariners website, or anywhere else for that matter???

Because he hasn't been signed for the rest of the season, and at this stage only signed as injury cover for Nick Mrjda.

I like Mori. someone who can score goals, but also can take on players. the rest of the team need losts of improvement. we need to keep possesion, one-touch passes are hopless, stop using long balls down the middle, instead use wing-backs more...

Striker,
Mori is a smart signing. No question about this, and I hope he stays with us.
May I question, rather than rain abuse on you, for your comment on one-touch passing? Speaking with Roddy in the Bay, we both think that when the Mariners play their short passing game, no-one else in the HAL can handle us.
You are spot on about the long balls and wing-backs, but I reckon that when we play short passes, we have the ball, it tires the opposition, and it allows our skilful blokes like Tommy, SP & Jamie an opportunity to have more influence on the game.
We certainly need to have possession, but I think that when our one-touch passing game is on song, we are a very good football team that can send FEAR into our opponents.
Striker, I'd love to hear your comments on this, as it is an interesting technical point.
Over to you, Ugo.

.......... I think that when our one-touch passing game is on song, we are a very good football team that can send FEAR into our opponents. absolutely right - the short passing game was certainly better last season e,g, when gumprech and tommy were in top form. last friday, the one touch did not work. too many short passes were made in a hurry and we lost possession far too often..... I'd prefer to slow the game down a bit, keep possession, I'd like to see the player with the ball take on a few opposition players and play wider rather than thru the centre....

Fair enough, thanks for that. Perhaps increased confidence from two wins in our last three games will have a flow-on effect re: skill level and we can indeed cut the oppostion to ribbons with high-quality passing and movement.

Agree that the short passing game is more effective when done properly, as well as being a damn sight more attractive to watch.
As regards Mori, I really hope they can find a way to keep him. Even though he's now....35?....36?.....he's still got one thing that a lot of our other front players don't have - and that's a real striker's instinct. He just seems to know when and where to run eg for his 2nd against Bling, the way he knew to move in between the 2 defenders to meet the cross from SP....pure class!

You want the game slowed down a bit but you get upset with Spenny when he does just that. You cannot have it both ways. I agree the one touch up the centre is not working well at the moment, however with confidence it will come. You must also remember that the ones who were the best exponents of it were Gumps, Tommy and Stewie. Tommie and Stewie are no wingers and Gumps is out. It will take a while yet for it to come together again. Keep the faith.

Could Mori's contract be extended with Smitta off in India?
