I think the words Durante and leg might have something to do with it

Fisherman what team do you support, I can't figure it out.
I'd rather Mrdja be labelled a "coward" and keep playing than be a hero and be out for another season. But does anyone have word from Lawrie about the actual reason he was left out?

Thats a new one, injury that is, must have done it at training or something.
No he could have done it in a game, he's played about 18 minutes in two years, that works out to be about $10,000 per minute, good value.

Nik was not 100% - so rather than risk him Hutcho was on the bench

McKinna said Mrdja had picked up a knock in training. Scott Macintyre on SBS implied that it had something to do with the Durante incident.
Depends on who you believe, I guess.......or maybe McKinna was trying to be diplomatic about leaving him out....?

I knew he wasn't in the squad when I saw him before the game eating a meat pie and drinking a coffee.
Funny watching him trying to eat the pie, talk on his phone and then burn his finger.

Towards the previous comments, he wouldn't not play since Durate couldn't either - he was suspended remember?

He was needed as it looked like Mori was playing alone up front where as they appeared to be hunting together up front. Maybe this is just the way the game flowed for us. He has to be better value than Kwasnik. Given the amount of games he has played he is costing us a fortune.
Omni, I am a CC fan and resident I am just calling it as I see it, his tackle on Durante was disgraceful, he didn't publicly apologize and I am sure that Lawrie was looking for a reason to leave him out yesterday, given the feeling that Newcastle still have against him.

I didn't mean any offense Fisherman, I'm just confused, partially because I haven't met you and I struggle to think of anything positive you've said (same goes for Serious 14 but I've met him).
As for Mrdja not apologising, he did, and the man was vomiting after the game, Nick Carle didn't apologise for what he did to Mrdja and others after the game, but noone saw that.

no doubt it has been said elsewhere and it is stating the bleeding obvious but I am really happy for Mrdja - to work so hard and then be rewarded with a top comeback, overcoming all the doubt that such an injury creates is brilliant - well done!!
