His goal was superbly taken and showed his class but before that he had looked a bit sluggish. Still as previously started he's be in my starting 11 at the expense of Kwas (who had a good game, again, apart from one appalling shot).

Pondeljak was anonymous til the goal. I would have given him 5 out of 10 but then he scored a beautiful goal so I'll give him eight. Boogaard is amazing, but for his lack of pace I would rate him the best young defender I have seen in decades; fantastic in the air, fantastic tackler, very good on the ball and always involved. I thought Jedinak was excellent, he was never beaten in the air but I want him back enforcing the midfield. Hutchinson ws outstanding but we lacked flair out wide, very little from Kwasnik, Gumprecht or Pondeljak. Only when Heffernan came on did we have width and pace. And can someone tell me if Matty Simon is going to be any good? Is he another Boogaard or is he a donkey?

I was just about to say the same thing. I didn't even realise Tommy P was on the field until that goal...
He's been quiet mostly all season when he's come on. Kwassie had a shocker, and Gumps was a bit quiet too. I really hope this faith in Simon pays off. I don't see it myself, but I hope I'm wrong - but the only way we're going to see is to give him more game time. Hopefully Tommy P will return to glory - and hopefully it'll fit into our overall team strategy.
I'd rather see him up front that Kwassie. Kwassie's only started playing ordinary the last few games, when he's been pushed up front a little, especially when our front line began to suffer. My conclusion to Kwassie's performance slump is that the closer he players to the box, the worse he gets - he plays best when he's playing deep, bringing it up from the backs and distributing it ahead of him, while having the freedom to lurk wherever he wants, a bit outside the box, to pick up the loose ball and shoot or distribute from range.
Maybe he just puts too much pressure on himself when he's in a scoring role as opposed to providing support for the scorers?
Who knows - I only know that with his boot, if he was as good a shot as some of the other strikers around, he'd be a goalscoring machine.

Tommy up front in place of Mori (and Jedi back to DM where he excels). This will allow Kwas to drop a little deeper and link with Heff.
Mori coming in has unbalanced the side and gives us 2 strikers who wont drop deep to get the ball like Tommy can.
Sadly, the Mori thing hasnt worked and we need to go back to quick play ON THE GROUND

Danny
Ossie Wilko Boogs Heff
- Gumps Jedi Hutch - - Tommy - - Kwas - - - -- - Sasho
Should we build towards something like this? Tommy AND Kwassy with free roles, taking turns getting close to Sasho and dropping deep/wide?

Mine was a 'dream team' situation...Wilko is looking at next week at the very earliest but more likely the Sydney game.
I don't think Nik and Sasho work that well together. Our team always changes so the team is basically selected by who is available, fit, and in form each week. But I would be happy to see the team gravitate towards what I posted at some stage, hypothetically.
