As for Hutch's booking, really silly challenge.....but how the hell did the other Jets player (Thomson, I think) get away with putting his hands in Hutcho's face??!!! I thought it was Jardel actually.....if you watch it on TV, he actually eye gouged him. The sideline has a great view of him grabbing his face then digging his fingers into his eyes. If that doesn't get a citation on post-match review then there are massive problems. Incidentally, if Shield had picked up one of the several fouls on Hutch (which is why he sought revenge) it never would've happened.

It was Jardel and Foxsports website state that he may be in trouble. I hope he only cops a fine. Any suspension of Jardel can ony improve the Scum's prospects. ;D

yesterday was the longest farkin day...
finally got to bed at 4.30am or so, then woke up at 8.30 and couldn't sleep anymore. was out of the house at 12.30, not to arrive in newcastle til about 4.15pm.
match - had a few beers but the hangover (just like those nasty trade unionists) was announcing loud and proud that it was 'coming back!' by the end of the second half i could barely sing as my head was about to farkin exlpode.
then the train ride home, and finally stumbled through the door at about 11.30 or so. stuffed as...

Newcastle jets... Eye-gougers and sackwacers!!! (and whiners)
So glad thats not our club.. absolute disgrace... the Jets really need to enforce some discipline in its ranks. How much does little man Joel whine... the little biatch should be slapped...Hard!
Again refereeing is poor, went both ways, but how you miss certain things is amazing IMO and the FFA (lets all say it again!!) need to do something, its not good enough for the standard of play they want to get to. If the game gets any faster or harder they will not cope, they are barely coping now. The one consistent thing about the refs, is their inconsistency...
How GVE could say they are "happy" with Jardel at half time is funny, has GVE been finally told to shut up and agree? Wasnt at the game, was camped at the club. What is the go with this "other" supporter group? Can someone fill me in? Im confused>?!?@#!

Gotta love the commentator (forget which one it was) after Denni headed the ball over a completely open goal: "Take it from me - Denni will never score. If he didn't score then, he's never going to score". Gold. score e's from joey, he couldn't score e's from joey!

Just got back from the game on the train. To the wankers who are trying to start an new supportors called "the dock" please does us a favour and shut the f*** up. We should all be supporting the Mariners as one, not as different groups. That's constructive! Did you hear WHY they want to start a new supporter group? Maybe listening to what's bothering them might be more helpful than telling them to shut up. Yes I did. Pretty crap reasons but.

Yes I did. Pretty crap reasons but. And what were those reasons? We are not cool or something. I lost interest after about 10 seconds. It just a bunch of guys trying to be cool.

All I was saying is that it's a classic example of a referee missing a minor incident ( hack/push in the back) leading to a more serious incident (yellow card, possibly close to a red, and an eye gouge). I was stating a simple fact - if Shield had spotted the foul, the incident wouldn't have escalated. I wasn't attempting to justify Hutcho's reaction - he needs to control himself. Great contribution to the thread, BTW.

Average performance. But i think Lawrie was only looking for a draw.
Hutcho was good again. Sorely missed Jedi/Tommy/Gumps in the middle.
Viddie had a good game as did Vukovic.
Simon impressed when he came on.
Heffs crossing was very poor.
Porter's probably is not worth a starting spot..but we are short on players atm.
Kwas showed the two sides to his game...1. Comical shot on goal. 2. Brilliant pace and hunger to rob a Necastle player and set up a good attack. He's an enigma!

We went OK at the NISC. A fair result for us, given EVERYONE drew. Griffo had an off day, and poor Mario is on his last legs, surely.
Man, it was hot up there. First time I've used my sombrero, and it was very handy, I'll tell you. The distressing sight of two senior citizens being rushed to first aid with heat stroke indicates it was seriously warm (also, how could you drink beer in that heat without a hat on???).
As for the Dock, couldn't care less about another group forming; the more people at Mariners games, the better.

Man, it was hot up there. And 90 mins peering into the sun glare - I would rather it had been pouring rain. How I appreciate my Bluetongue Upper Western grandstand vantage point. how could you drink beer ... without a hat on???). Never drunk a beer with a hat on. Or a little umbrella in it ;D

Man, it was hot up there. And 90 mins peering into the sun glare - I would rather it had been pouring rain. How I appreciate my Bluetongue Upper Western grandstand vantage point. To state the obvious, their ground is an absolute shit hole and the seats away supporter is given is a disgrace. Mind you, every seat in that ground is a disgrace. I know rabid Mariners fans who refuse to go there because of our seat allocation, which by the way should be no excuse for not travelling. Congrats to everone for being there. I thought we put on a damn vocal effort, but watching the recording of the game we didn't come accross very loud on the box. One thing I was annoyed with was, the couple of time the "stand up for the Mariners" chant was sang, not that many actually stood up. I know in the scheme of things it's hardly the most important issue we'll face this season, but bugger me, they've travelled all the way from the CC and they can't be bothered standing up for 30 seconds? To me standing up is a sign of respect, like standing up to shake somebody's hand. It's a great symbol of support and love of our team and looks great. As I said it's not the most important issue, but we still have some work to do with the masses.

I dont think that should be something to be annoyed at, unless ofcourse you are purely talking about the people sitting in the cluster representing the away "marinators" section, as alot of people who travel away to the games arent the kind of people that like to chant, and stand, and bounce around. Many people, including myself, can be just as passionate and supportive of the mariners by simply showing up, appreciating the game and enjoying watching their team play, getting in with all the acts of that kind of supporting isnt the be all and end all of good support.
