From now on the website will be used more effectively for pre-game previews and recruitment efforts, ie 'Come sit with the Marinators in Bay 16' and a description of why people should do this.
If people have other ideas for recruitment in general, they could be posted here.
Keep it reasonable and realistic, the main reason people should join bay 16 is because they like what they see, and like what they experience when they give it a try. Ideas such as raising our image, getting more information about the bay 16 experience out there, and better welcoming newcomers would be a good start.

I think that maybe kids under 13 or 14 should only be allowed in if they are supervised by adults. I'm aware that this would be extremely hard to enforce but it would eliminate little kids causing trouble.

I'm happy to be writing actual match reports and previews if we want them (I'll try to get The Sydney one done tomorrow or Friday) - oh and I have spoken with WT about this before this meeting and Baywatch is no more.

Yeah those little kids with their obscene language always yelling at chicks to get their tits out, thats a good idead.

It's not really match reports, there are ones on ccmariners.com.au that will be better so we shouldnt waste our effort, maybe link to those if anything. it should more just be about reminding people a game is coming up and encouraging them to sit with us. i think DJ had something for it.

marinerd, what's with all the negativity? Again, I respect anyone & everyone's opinion, but you seem to trash the Marinators EVERY TIME you are on here.
What gives? Have you got ANYTHING constructive to contribute? If so, can we see it please?
Read what occurred at our meeting last night; no sexism, no racism, no discrimination. If you can't see the positives in that, then you must be auditioning for the part of Marvin the Paranoid Android in the next instalment of "Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy"!!
I speak for myself only here, but we will make every effort to be a great supporters group. If you don't want a part of the Marinators, come to games, enjoy our club, enjoy the footy, but leave your doom and negativity off this forum, please??

I'm aware that this would be extremely hard to enforce but it would eliminate little kids causing trouble. Kids that age don't want parental supervision. They should be ecouraged to turn up to the game. get them to stand up front in bay 16..... maybe distribute leaflets to the local high schools and places kids hang out to let them know about the marinators....

Fair point. I believe there should be some form of education on how they should behave or something like that at the games.

I am keen to get pro-active but what with working in Bling AND having ongoing TAFE studies (oh, and a wife n puppy) i am finding it hard., as my absence from the meeting highlighted.
Its been mooted before, but is it possible to draw a one-page flyer up and have it accessible on the website for anyone to download? I can post them when im walking the dog. Nothing new im sure but every little helps.

There's something that DJ whipped up on the website right now. Beautiful!
It's hard, because people wont join us unless they are educated as to what we are about and what we're (now?) NOT about, and this is hard to put through via a flyer. I think the best thing we can do is maybe whip up something, say about the fans day for instance, that Marinators would roam the other bays handing out to people. But also sitting down with people and chatting with them about their perceptions on us. A lot of people will say they love our work but prefer to view the game from a better angle and jumping and singing isnt really their thing, but you just have to listen to guys like Fish, who started like that, came over to see what it was like with us, and never looked back. There has to be a lot of people like that sitting around, but not coming over because of whatever reason, they think they have to pay, they dont have a shirt, they dont know anyone there, they dont know the songs, we sing tits out at them, whatever reason, and we have to get to these people on an informative, personal level.

I do have a suggestion however implementing it for this competition year may be a bit difficult because the local premier league competitions have finished.
I think you should consider recruiting a senior player from each of the soccer clubs on the central coast and using them to recruit / drum up support among other senior players at the club to sit with the marinators each game. I think there are about 20 clubs on the coast and i figure if each representative can get 10 senior players from their club to attend the game and sit in bay 16, your numbers will be boosted by about 200 people each game.
I figure that this is quite achievable since most clubs would have 50 - 70 people in their senior ranks when considering all age sides in addition to the grade teams. Every club has a bunch of young 18 - 24 year olds who i am sure could be recruited for the cause.
i have other ideas but ill save them for another posting.

You might be able to save yourself a bit of time and money by getting five or six extraverted outgoing marinators / marinettes to set something up at the top of the stairs inside the stadium opposite the CC leagues club.
As the people role up the stairs, each marinator could get in the the face of the people with with a smile and a kind word, and talk the people into coming round and sitting with you guys for the night. Done in the right way i am sure you will get people to come around. Perhaps a coreflute sign placed in this area which outlines what you guys are about wouldnt hurt either.
Shit, even my wife gave up her blue seat in the stand to lead a marinette parade down to the cove supportors last saturday night to sing marinators songs right in their faces . ...........And she had previously only been to one game before

In regards to the comment of striker#9 and the High School issue, I go to Terrigal high, everyone that goes there and enjoys football knows about the Marinators, there are about 5 of us that actually sit with the group and others still attend the games and know what the Marinators do. The issue isn't necesarilly advertising the fact its just about trying to persuade others and this is what us 5 do. I guess what I'm trying to say is people know, they just dont bother
