I thought it was brilliant but thought the marinators were poor.
To here the Sydney chant go around the ground and when they scored and we were all silent for that moment in time was a very special dark moment. So many people went ape.
But to the Marinators, we had about half a bay standing which was making a lot of noise and the rest sitting down and the only one trying to make noise up the front was Sean Pollock. I think everyone was into the game like myself so that is probably another reason why. This not an insult against the Marinators cause i have stood with you guys all year but had been to better games, eg. Newcastle Away.

I feel we did our best, we were never gonna out sing 30,00+ fans. We did well and thats all there is to it....except for the people sitting to the right of me....sat down the whole game and made people sit down in front of them. Throught things and pushed people when they stood up. They looked like they were about 40ish.....wannabe posh people. They belong at chelsea.....eating prawn sandwhiches. They probably put a dampener on these lads nights. There one word i have for these people and it starts with c and ends in t

I agree that we were never going to outdo Sydney. Dodgy ticketing, and playing away made sure of that.
I was disappointed at the number of bays next to Bay 3 were largely silent when the songs went up.
But I thought the Marinators and some other fans were outstanding. You can never judge these things from within, only later on the TV replay, but looking at the Cove, they seemed very quiet and not at all animated until they scored. They did look excellent during the national anthem though, and blew us away.
Colour wise we had it in spades over the lacklustre pale blue. I went into Bay 23, and before being kicked out by security wankers, I looked back with pride at the big patches of yellow around the ground.
We sang until the end, even when things were obviously turning against us. For that we should be proud.
I must admit that on occasion I too stopped singing to focus on the match. It was an absorbing contest.
During the second half I had a few chaps came from God knows where to stand next to me wanting to chat. My reaction was "Watch the f@#king game, or sing. Leave the chatting for post-match". I may have been a bit anti-social, but hey, that's what I feel.
All in all, a B+.

We all agree on how poor the ticketing was. I was surprised at how poor.
The tickets we had seemed to isolate us into pockets of a couple hundred people around the ground. Sure we had bays 1-6, but from where i was sitting, even these areas appeared to have pockets of blue in them. I was sitting in a four row block at the back of bay 31 with other mariner supporters right next to the cove.
Overall, we had very little chance of getting the chants up with this shoddy ticketing arrangement. .

I thought the lads in Bay 3 was fantastic. I was sitting /standing most of the time in Bay 1 & when the call went out to stand up to sing etc we all got up & sang, I can hardly talk today. I normally just sit in the stand & watch the game one of these "yellow cardboard fans " but not yesterday we all got caught up in the atmosphere, plus down a few ale's and sang all day. I was very proud to be from the Central Coast & the huge effort from the marinators, thanks for a wonderful day. & looking forward to August, my son wants to buy a season pass in bay 16 next year instead of just sitting in the stands.

I thought the atmosphere in the Mariners end (esp Bay 3) was fantastic. True, it was going to be outnumbered, but hell, it was great. Auburn, Rowdy and who started the chants should be proud of the day.
I sang a few times but my mind goes into a football meditation mode meaning I watch and focus on the match. I do that at Glory too.

GET F#$CKED Razza I was in row G and I was singing loud and proud in fact I was ASKED to sit down several times once by security !!!!! Brings us back to the point of a selective supporters bay ! I spoke to people on the bus on the way home who were sitting in the corperate boxes and they stated they could hear the marinators and the coast fans without any problem remember they had 35000 and we had 5000

razza's just trying to make a point, and not an unreasonable one. i don't think the marinators carried as well as they could have, but were still bloody good. things could be made better, but remember just how many people who were with us yesterday would never have been to any professional football of any sort this time last year. as we learn and our fans learn we'll get better and better. one thing we can't do is go busting into people on here for expressing honestly held views. the substantive points (that we went a bit quiet when their huge SYD-NEY chant went up and that our newcastle trip was louder) are subjective, but reasonable claims nonetheless. we can disagree, but we don't just rip into people.

We were not poor. Yeah we went quiet for 30-45 seconds when they scored, then we were back into it. Dibo, yep he's entitled to his opinion, but in this case the use of "poor" is a serious overstatement and not representative of the truth.
Pollock had a very good day, and he did something late in the evening at CCLC that showed me he is a man who deserves respect. Well done Sean, you did us all proud.

sorry guys. I wasn't try to start something and i think poor was a shit use of a word.
I was probably just annoyed at the people who tried to make me sit down and was probably just frustrated at the job. I thought everyone was concentrating on the game like i was and i thought when we did sing we were loud but i was disappointed in the numbers that were singing in our bay. It was good to see the Mariners chant go through all the Mariners bay but was disappointing to see some of our bay not singing in the usual songs because of people trying to make them sit down or for another reason or another.
I apologise for what i said. I've now seen that i was wrong to call the marinators poor

Bay 2, stood all game and had no voice at the end.
The accoustics were what you would expect from a RL ground/library - crap

I agree a bit with Razza. I had people behind me telling me to sit down in Bay 3. Shit fans, they didn't even cheer when we were close to scoring, they didn't chant or do anything except tell us to sit down.
As for the pregnant pause after the goal. I think we were all in shock and I was trying to get people to start singing but I think we all got over the shock at different times.
What kicked in once we realised that the game wasn't over and we could still win. That is what mariners/marinators is about. We never give up till the end. The emotion in me when the 3 minute sign was displayed made me believe we could still draw. Once the singing expressed the belief that we could still draw the players to believed that a draw was possible. That's what a marinator does for their team.
Not until the last whistle did I believe we counldn't do it.
Mariners till I die
