I feel handmade ones look better and mean more as you've gone to the effort of handcrafting a banner to show your passion for the teams

thats true, especially of supporter banners however were talking more a banner that identifies the whole group to people in the stands and watching on tv... we can create other banners and already have hand painted banners we will use, this is more just to make us more organised... i reckon a massive parachute style banner would be unreal say 3x larger than the one we have now with rebel on it, but thatd take forever

The term 'north end' infers (in MY mind anyway) that there must be a 'south' end, and whilst there is a south end, there's no seats and so its a bit like " derrr...." (I think I'm going mad) Don't worry mate you're not going mad, there really are no seats at that end.

just sent this email to the club will advise on their response:
Hi there,
In preperation for the new season we (marinators) are looking at making a big banner (like the one the cove uses in bay 23), a proper digitally printed banner on canvas material (not a handmade one). The issue we need to address:
* Would it need to be raised on poles to avoid blocking any advertising on the fencing? (This then means a 2-3 rows would be affected visually). I presume this is something you need to check with the stadium owners...
We are considering sizing approximately 4 - 5 metres long by 1.5 - 2 metres high to make the "yellow army" known around the grounds and on tv. Hopefully this can encourage growth to expand bay 16 into surrounds and give the team extra vocal support and organisation in the supporter bays itself.
I have attached a sample of the design, it is still being tweaked and will most likely feature the words "yellow army" on one line with the flag to the side instead of on two lines to minimise disruptions to viewing area in seating and advertising.

northernspirit, just a quick question. And PLEASE dont take it the wrong way.
Who are you???
None of the regulars, those that I speak to anyway, know anything about you. Dont take this the wrong way, please please please dont, but maybe we should let the marinators who already have close relationships with people within the club do the talking/emailing and dealing.
Again, please dont take this the wrong way. This is not an attack.

It's clear that your passionate about the game and the coast, your contacts and experience I'm sure will prove to be very valuable for years to come! Getting new ideas for banners etc is great, we just need to be careful of what we can and can't do due to covering sponsors etc..........there is plenty of time in the off season for that anyway

NS, nice work on the banners and all and I too am glad to see new people (especially with a bit of experience and lots of passion!) put their hand up! I think what Bear was trying to say was that we have a kind of agreement with a/the club, b/the stadium, c/ the leagues club, d/the media, that certain people from the marinators will deal with them and then the mariners etc are only talking to one person each time rather than possibly saying the same thing over and over to lots of people who contact them. Please keep your ideas coming on here and as mick said, keep an eye out for an announcement regarding all marinators very soon.
