I doubt very much a sellout, but 10,000+ is very realistic IMHO

Fair play to the Cove boys too, that flyer they did was awesome, any talented Marinators here able to come up with anything we can put around the coast?

14,000 no spit I mean no sweat The ground takes about 20,000 from memory?? so even if u get around 14,000 people its gonna look and sound awesome, should be 1 of the games of the year. I think both teams are pretty evenly matched though if the last time they played is anything ro go by. Hopefully more of the same.....with the result reversed of course ;D

I reckon the existing record will be smashed like a guitar on the 5th
13,500 + i believe.
As a general note, do you guys see the supporter base increasing? It wasnt so long ago the base seemed to be about 5500. Since then we have had 9300 and i think 6500 was a good crowd for the perth game considering it was pissing down raining for the whole game.
I reckon we will get 9500 locals + 4000 sydney FC fans travelling...

no way will sydney get 4000 travellers. sydney people i know seem to think the coast is miles away, and that you'd have to stay overnight...
however, given the publicity they've had, we'll get more people coming to see the locals take on dwight yorke (there is only one player for the bling, isn't there?).

During the Pre-Season tournament the crowd was about 8,500 - a fair few were from Sydney so I'm sure there will be a good number of smog lovers! Families from Sydney who live on the coast or around the Newcastle area will turn up I'm sure!

I look forward to hearing them sing some songs other than Hey Jude. . What are you on about? We are louder AND have more songs than you.

What WT means is he is looking forward to hearing your range of songs as the loudest 1 is Hey Jude as it's your easiest tune! We don't hear much else due to as Nedstaaa said, co-ordinating all your mob to sing the same song is difficult unless it's the core cove fans! Whether you have a bigger range of songs will be found out in 2 weeks I guess

My response was more in regard to this innacurate comment from another thread: As you say though, we will see in 2 weeks

Yeah, well that's a stirrer of a comment I'll admit. But you cant have it both ways.
The Cove is claimed to be 2500 strong, yet the only songs this many people sing are the two easy ones. So it's either the Cove is big with no songs, or it's 500 strong with lots of songs. I'm sure when you come up here we'll see the 500 with lots of songs, although our variety is pretty top notch.

The Cove is claimed to be 2500 strong, yet the only songs this many people sing are the two easy ones. And you are basing this assertion on what exactly? The 1 time the marinators have been to the SFS at the other end of the stadium? or on what you have heard on tv? Most, if not all the cove will join in for 'Hey Jude', 'ole ole ole - Sydney', the generic 'sydney clap clap clap' and 'come on sydney!'. That's at least 4. Then you have situation based songs to add to that, i.e. 1 nil to the sydney boys etc etc. What you are saying might apply to the rest of the stadium, of which parts of only join in occasionally for the easier chants, but it doesn't apply to the cove.

If you come on the Mariners forum do you expect us to kiss your arse or wind you up? If you want people to kiss your arse stay on the Sydney forum, but if you don't mind a bit of friendly banter and wanna talk football in general your more than welcome here!

I was correcting your mr tiger on how many we can generally get the wider parts of the bay and other parts of the stadium singing without too much trouble. Our song list is constantly evolving, I won't bother to count them all, go and read some of the threads in our 'meet ups & travel' section of our forum if you want an accurate representation. p.s. your yellow submarine song is gay ;D
