what are peoples thoughts on mori returning? he scored plenty of goals in rapid succession for the CCM so our style must suit his striking, of course he is just one cog in the wheel - really need a decent supporting striker - maybe someone who posseses an aerial threat that suits our style also, this talk of robbie fowler is a waste of time - never rated him for one and two we could never afford his wage demands Mori is a short term solution, leave it alone, lets look to the future.

I agree that a striker should be signed, but who, everyone agrees that we need one, but noone has produced a name, we can't just say we want an awesome striker and have one magically appear, who will be off contract next season does anyone know? We need someone with some legs left a 30 year old not a 36 year old. This season would tend to show that a 35 year old marque type player doesn't work ie Okon, Lazaridis. I think a player similar to the age of Thompson (Victory) and Griffiths (Jets) two players similar ages late 20's early thirties both still being picked for national team.

I think we need tommy p sitting in behind a good target man up front.
I thought Jedi did a great job on Carle the other night, we must get him next year. Kwassie as a back up player.
Spencer not sure about.
Thought the back four were ok last night.

He is getting what he deserves for the cowardly act on Durante, don't give him another yellow shirt. We have said this on numerous occasions over the last 18 months, send him on his way, bring on Matty.

Could Sully be given the same job on Carle? Milligan certainly shut him down on Monday. Milligan didn't man mark Carle, the reason Sydney won was there structure, you have to give credit to Butcher. Sydney prevented the jets from going wide by having Carney and Middleby playing deeper on the flanks, thus pushing Newcastle up the middle where Sydney stacked it with Talay, McFlynn, Milligan and Fyfe. Simple football away from home (maybe negative in some eyes but winning football). Please watch the game.

Having watched replays of it multiple times, i agree it was filthy, but it also looks like during the air he thinks "oh shit" and tries to pull out. He bends his legs and ends up making contact with his shins not his studs I agree unlike Mrdja last year Jedi tried to pull out.

He was needed as it looked like Mori was playing alone up front where as they appeared to be hunting together up front. Maybe this is just the way the game flowed for us. He has to be better value than Kwasnik. Given the amount of games he has played he is costing us a fortune.
Omni, I am a CC fan and resident I am just calling it as I see it, his tackle on Durante was disgraceful, he didn't publicly apologize and I am sure that Lawrie was looking for a reason to leave him out yesterday, given the feeling that Newcastle still have against him.

Thats a new one, injury that is, must have done it at training or something.
No he could have done it in a game, he's played about 18 minutes in two years, that works out to be about $10,000 per minute, good value.

I wasn't too disappointed with our numbers - when I got into the stadium (After your PATHETIC ticketing sales outside) there were more marinators than squadron. Too bad we we missed out on getting 2 penalties :-( If you think we got the benefit of the referee then you're on f***ing drugs. Ultimately, yes, the better team on the night won. Don't brag too much about your numbers, your club are still the biggest bandwagonners in the comp. sandmans been copying the Victory site posts, com'n mate come up with something original. Bandwagonners? The comps not even two years old. I have been at CC games last year when there were only 5 odd thousand people. I went to the Sydney game when the result was 5 nil, lots leaving after 60 minutes. Look given CC and Newcastle fan base there will be 8000 core supporters win lose or draw, the extras come when you win a couple of games. The same happened in Newc and CC last season when both clubs did ok.

One day we will have a fully fit squad! one day. our defence was below par and we didn't control the midfield, we didn't deserve the win! simple as that. at least Perth will take care of the scum next week and we should beat the knights. we should be in 4th when melbourne takes care of qld! How will Perth beat Newcastle given that today? Everyone has injuries, we need fresh legs, Newcastle did to us what we did to sides last season, work hard without the ball and don't defend one out. They one more ball defending in mid field than we did, last year they looked slow, this year we are looking slow. Out go Petrie, Spencer and Kwasnik, in come fresh legs.
