Melbourne have also a bit more whhite to the back of their home kit. Does anyone know when the new away kit designs will be released? Only three teams get new away kits - Sydney, Perth and New Zealand. And given that white is a key colour in the Sydney and Perth schemes I expect them to be mostly white again.

I can't wait until the deal with Reebok expires, so that each club wll have different designs and the league will have a bit of difference in the kit's.

Did anyone check out the stats for tv audiences involving the teams? It went melbourne, sydney, perth, mariners, qld, adelaide, scum, nz. Found it interesting, that coming from the smallest region, tv audiences for our games were comparatively pretty good. If a number of these people are on the coast, then it is up to the club to try and entice them to come to the games. Same for perth, if even 1/3 of their viewers are from perth, hopefully with the club being sorted out, they can entice some of these people back to the game. qld is a bit surprising i thought they would have been a lot higher

Those figures were halfway down that article. Page 11
People must remember, the a-league has been set up in a socialist style. I do not expect them to abandon that after 5 seasons. So when reebok's deal runs out, it is very likely in my opinion that clubs will not be given the choice to find their own supplier. Since bigger clubs, would be able to demand more money.
I would assume the FFA will continue their current style of thinking, and even if it does not sell all 8/10 teams kits to the one bidder, i would assume they would split it in half, and have the seemingly biggest value shirts split between the 2. eg Nike could supply 5 strips, and reebok 5. or whatever.
I doubt very much they will abandon the key ideas they had when setting up the a-league after 5 years. They will be looking for long term, and securing the league, as well as all the clubs.
I guess it is posible that the FFA will simply allow bidders individually, with the total money going straight to the FFA, and then handed out evenly to all clubs in the league, regardless of how much an individual clubs strip was sold for.
Otherwise, regardless of the thought that sydney and melbourne, should pull in more cash than say us and newcastle. The 2 new teams would surely draw less cash as well.

jesus: where are u getting these figures from He was grabbing the info from the pdf file that opens when you click on the link provided earlier in this thread. While our Foxtel TV audience is up there (3rd), we are one of 3 still under the 10K crowd attendance average over the 2 seasons (9828). With a bit of success this season, I can see the Mariners breaking that barrier in V3. I'd like to see the Mariiners get a bit of a swirl going somewhere on their jerseys, like what appears on the logo. The jerseys have a diagonal set of seams going thru the jersey already, so I'm thinking that it shouldn't be too hard to swirl those and add a highlight colour to the yellow colour on the swirled seams (maybe a darker shade of yellow or gold, I think black or Navy blue would be too hypnotising ;D). The fabric is all synthetic so anything should be possible as far as how the seams are placed.

Not fussed on the new mariners shirt, I think I will hurry up and buy the old ones. Blue sleeves - yuk!
