The Marinators Club executive has arranged for Peter Turnbull to meet the Marinators before the Wellington game.
He will be having a beer (or a softdrink) in the Kendall Bar from 4:45pm before the game.
All welcome to come and say hello.
Cheers Mick

To think the leading shareholder in our club wants to share a drink, and some of our own players have not even done that. Legend.

Legend. in SFC terms, he's learnt a bit from the walter bugno school of board-fan relations, rather than the frank lowy school.

I'd bloody hope the players wouldn't be having a drink with the Marinators BEFORE the game! Good on Mr Turnbull I can see he will be great for our club similar fan relationship as Lyall.

I don't think Bear was talking about the players coming into CCLC after a match to celebrate with the fans, that's their time to go out and bond and enjoy not having to play their next game a for a while.
But over the time supporting the club home and away, I have certainly seen some of the players making an effort to bond with the fans which is great. Gumps in the Kendall was fantastic. They aren't obliged to do this and I'm not knocking the ones who don't, but it is great that Turnbull is keen to get in and do this.

awesome to have peter turnbull in the kendall bar and i think he loved his chant Yes it was great. When he walked in, I pointed him out to my mother and explained who he was, "is he married" was the response, followed by a look over to my old man and a shrug of the shoulders and "sorry". Thats gold.

and he sported his new marinators scarf for the rest of the game his halftime radio interview was interesting he mentioned that they are looking to buy land in order to build a home base for the teams Ha ha, my guess is Mr. Turnbull would be habitual in looking at land opportunities - he is a developer after all! There is one spot that might be of interest tho? The Wyong RSL have a club on the corner of Wyong Rd, just up the road from the Supacentre which houses Bunnings. It is well located being a short walk from the Tuggerah train station. At the back of the club is the Tuggerah Oval and in between the oval and club is presently some Tennis Courts (club property). Go into partnership with the Tuggerah Football club, redevelop the oval to have two or three fields. Buy the club off Wyong RSL and redevelop the club to also house training facilities and administration, plus the bonus of a going club, with pokie revenue....it's a dream I know , but if Mr. Turnbull's company can do all the redevelopment work that would cut a significant cost to the project.
