I think I'll change my logon to 'mustapha-pint-of-what-mick's-been-drinking!!!!!!!' I'll go for 2-0...double from Mrdja....crowd around 15,000, but would love to see more. 4-0 is not out of the question as sydney has hardly had a preseason, they are missing a bucket load of players, others are playing injured or underprepared and players are playing out of position anyway, i am not going to tip what everyone else is tipping by the way, TAB is paying $7:50 for Mariners half time Mariners full time Mick, You must have a big slice of that $7.50, it's now into $7.00 !! ;D ;D

Mariners 3 - Syd FC 2. Sydney's 2nd goal will come midway through the second half giving us all heart attacks as there will be sometime left to equalise and at the sametime it will also have us back asking the same questions/debating about our defence &/or combinations. Crowd: 24,763.

I am scared. I have a bad feeling and am very worried about this game. I do not know why but suspect it was the last pre season game. I am scared that either Sasho or Jedi will be targeted with needling tactics and we will see a send off and we will collapse (remember Meggsi in V1 at Gosford). Or worse, Sydney get reduced to 9 men. I worry about our lack of pace in certain positions and too many offside calls. I worry about Trotty making a mistake or Danny still being "out of it". Sydney can not be as bad as in the pre season surely!!! I think I need a strong drink. Tell me it is just 1st night nerves. PLEASE. 1-3 to Sydney and much crying after the game. 17,156. Please give me reassurance, valium and/or alcohol.

Tell me it is just 1st night nerves. PLEASE. It's just first night nerves. Remember back to that magical night known as the 13th October, 2006. No one had given us much of a chance, our midfield was supposedly average and we'd been having trouble scoring goals. Then our wildest dreams came true, plus the rest of it. The redux of said night will occur tomorrow. Mark my words Ursus, Sydney will not get out of this game with anything resembling a point, a goal, or a positive.

Mariners 3-1
Scorers: Heff, Sasho, Kwassie for us. Corica for them
Crowd: Interesting factors here. It's still raining here, it's on a Friday Night at the SFS, BUT, it's the first chance for all of us to see Juninho at close quarters. Prediction: 19,999.
Ursus, we will win tomorrow night, and we WILL make the four. Our pre-season form was alright, and whilst we have some weaknesses, we will score very well this year. I can see some 4-2 or even 5-3 results later on, when it gets hotter.

These predictions are always futile...if that was the actual crowd they would announce it as 20k with change every time Ursus - I too am nervous. Strangely, it's head saying win and heart saying loss - usually it is the other way around. All signs point to a Mariners victory but they have a f***ing good record at SFS and a World Cup winner who is somewhat of an unknown. The way I look at it - it's a long season, we will make the four regardless, so even we lose tomorrow, and it hurts like hell, at least I can feel SOMETHING again.
