This would be a tricky game to make a debut in, but then again, he is 27. He won't be there as an 'expose him to the Socceroo squad' experience as we have seen with Sarkies, Musialik. If he impresses in the training Arnie should give him a run. With no pressure on his job (since he already lost it) Arnie won't be afraid to throw him on.
Then again, I think a late appearance off the bench is most likely.

Just curious where all the mariners nicknames originated from...

Isn't Meggsy an old Aussie nickname for Michael? He doesn't look much like Ginger Meggs. |

Congrats to Heff, well deserved.
I think his selection may have had a touch of politics about it, with the message:
"If you are borderline cracking it overseas, stay home we will give you a run"
Bolton and Brosque are tokens to the Cove to stop them screaming after this weeks perceived injustices.
I will be surprised if any get a run this time but it will provide massive encouragement.

Oh this could be so sweet for Dean. One of the reasons for him not being able to crack into the Nurnberg first team was an Argentinean international playing in his spot! Hope he gets a run at LB and shows he can do the job well. A backline with Beauchamp and Heff alongside each other should make folks like Lawrie very bloody proud I'd say. And send a message to d'heads like Slater that he should give CCM a fair bit more respect too. Well, Pinola wasn't an Argentinean international at that time. But it's great to hear that Heff has made it to the Socceroos. |
