As a realist, I believe we should look to sign our next striker from the academy, at least for the short term if not the long term. Are there any strikers in the academy that could theoretically be as good as Mrdja in the pecking order in the short term? Because we should probably exhaust that option before looking elsewhere and this could be one of those things where we have to take a gamble and make our own find.

Agree with mick. Need someone on loan most likely. We need them now. Not later.

Teach Kwassie to shoot. That'll solve all our problems Beyond that, I don't really know who else to put up front. Give Heff a go!!! No, seriously...... Tommy P would be my other choice. I wouldn't mind trying hutcho out up front. While I think he's most useful where he is right now, depending on the opponent we could cover his current position....Hutcho's got the aggression, the instinct, and the touch. We should consider ourselves lucky - we've got a llot more depth and talent in attack than most teams. The Academy will only continue to deepen our pool of talent, but we probably shouldn't expect to reap too many rewards from it just yet. Despite all our talent, for whatever reason we're still not overly frightening at the business end of the pitch..... I don't really know where else we could pull a striker from. We're trying to develop Simon, so it probably wouldn't be a good idea to bring in another unknown young player, not until we've got him sorted out.

Shame Oliver Bozanic is a midfielder instead of a striker, maybe we could have brokered a loan deal with Reading to have Oliver play for the Mariners short term. Would have been good for the lad to come back home for a couple of months too.

don't worry bakery - I've always been a fan of Kwassie. I'm not trying to bag him out. His shooting's improved a lot from last season, but there's always room for improvement. With the strength he hits it with he can easily beat the keeper from up to 30 yards out, but if he could routinely do it whilst keeping it on target (but not straight at the keeper) I reckon he'd be one of the most dangerous players in the league. Anyway, moving on before this turns into another Kwassie debate

How about Nuremburg FC, they could return the favour, do they have anyone? Ive got the answer.... Josh Kennedy, he's perfect. Great strength, good ability to shoot. Capped for Australia. And awesome off set pieces. Ring Lawrie now and suggest it.

Hmmmmm ... the Major League Soccer season is finishing soon. Anyone over in the US worthy of a striking role with the Mariners?
No, I didn't think so.

what about a certain michael baird, who is an aussie playing in romania and the mariners failed to sign him before version 1. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michael_Bairdas he isnt playing too many games this season, this would be a good loan signing

This is all me with Wikipedia, no substance or sanity to anything below!
Possible links with Rangers: Daniel Cousin Thomas Buffel (hey, he's not playing for them) Rory Loy Andrew Shinnie
Aussies Abroad: Danny Invincible (doubtful) Joel Porter John Aloisi (again INSANE but imagine) Max Vieri (How about Christian?)
Can we get Dez back?
