At the moment he is listed as shirt number "-1" on the CCM site it has to be either 14, 21, or 25+

AMAZING SIGNING. i was thinking just this morning they gota hurry up and sign a replacement or its gunna be tough semi-final time then i heard the news and found out i was so freakin amazed. Hopefully he will sign a full-term contract next year. If the management treat him right and the fans love him, i couldnt see anyone leaving from this amazing club. To bad for matty but i guess he learns from the best signing the a-league has ever had. MOVE OVER JUNINIHO the RIGHT ALOISI is here! I cant wait for the next home game. 17000 turn up to see the mariners featuring the world cup hero John Alosi destroy their opponent.

Im guessing awesome marketing deals could come from this. i don't think it would be too far fetched, if we keep him next season, to see him on A league promos as well as on the cover for the Australia/New Zealand version of Fifa 08 in the yellow and navy. It just goes to show that Lawrie and the rest of us coasties mean business when we have a team on the national level.

I will be very dissapointeed if we don't break the magical 20,000 crowd mark with us being top of the league and Aloisi in town bringing in those bandwagoners. www.foxsports.com.au/story/0,8659,22618494-5000940,00.html "Significantly, Aloisi's contract will not be included in the club's salary cap - even though he has not signed as a marquee player. The Mariners already have a marquee player in former Australian defender Tony Vidmar, but Aloisi has instead been recruited as a long-term injury replacement for Matthew Osman, who is out for the season with a knee injury. Under A-League rules, long-term injury replacements are not included in the cap. In signing both Vidmar and Aloisi, some could argue the Mariners have found a clever way to have two marquee players on their books for the season". smart move.

The stadium only holds 20,100 IIRC.

I dont sit in the home end for socceroos games so is there any chants anyone should update me and others on the forum about. or does anyone have any chants they want to create? (To the tune of "Allouette"): Aloisi, Johnny Aloisi Aloisi, He's a Mariner "The Wrong Aloisi" is even more apt for Wellington How about: Peter Turnbull He's our mate He's our mate, he's our mate Peter Turnbull He's our mate He Got Johnny

I ment more breaking the attendance record than the 20,000 mark itself but i forgot the record(was it 17,000??) but if we make the Semi-final at bluetongue with aloisi playing it's possible.

Imagine Aloisi's agent making the choice and he is confronted by Lyall, Peter Turnbull and Singo and compares them to who ever has the SFC job this week.
Game over

Interesting thing about that article is that a debut is Sydney sounds possible. I think his debut at Bluetonge will be just as popular whether it's his first or second game.
