These are some current (28/10/04) photos of the stadium - which show why the CCUFC or 'Coasties' don't play there until Dec 11: Main entrance Western Stand - piles of dirt for the motorcross Stadium with trucks dumping dirt ready for motorcross! Northern Entrance - opposite Leagues Club and nearest to station and car park (often not open)

I drove past yesterday and had a peek inside. It amases me how much freaking dirt they truck into that joint for this motorcross thingy. Tonnes and tonnes. I'm wondering whether the stadium will be used exclusively, or at least almost exclusively for the A-League during the August to Feb season. Or whether they will squeeze Jim Beam Cup matches, the odd Rugby match, or freaking MotorCross shows in as often as they can. I would like to hope the pitch will be kept as prestine as possible for the duration of the season. Anyways, here too is a good site with information on every stadium in Australia. www.austadiums.com/Here is the Central Coast Stadium page; www.austadiums.com/stadiums/stadiums.php?id=79And a shot when it actually has grass on it. The seating is very close to the action. Should easily be able to tell the Sydney FC keeper his mum wears army boots.

For the benefit of those not familiar with it, here is another shot of the stadium. Looks like a very old shot, btw.

What are the dimensions of the pitch? It looks almost square from the aerial pic.

What are the dimensions of the pitch? It looks almost square from the aerial pic. Having played a local soccer grand final on the stadium I can say that the markings were very close to maximum. Chasing 18 year old kids all game on that size pitch was a nightmare! The sidelines and the seating end are very close to the public, so I think the atmosphere should be awesome. That is, if there is over 10000 people or us Rowdies blow everyone away

Being a rugby referee I have it on good Authority that the ARU have a contract with CCEAS and as such 1 rugby game a year will be played at CCEAS. The NRL just want to whore themselves off to get the money off Gosford without giving it a club.

I think they will get considerably less support for NRL games at the Coast now that the Mariners are in. I'm praying for a thugby league backlash

I'm praying for a thugby league backlash I suppose one NRL game is no big deal, it would be the smaller Rugby and Rugby League compes I'd be worried about, le alone Motor Cross specatcles. But the only cross over for the NRL and A-League should be in August/early Sept, so they surely should be able to schedule the NRL match in before August.

Motorcross is far worse - it wrecks the stadium surface for two months

An article in the local paper on Wednesday has said that Central Coast United wouldn't be having any more games at CCEAS as they cant afford it. They are behind on player payments and (apparently) these off-field issues are effecting form. So it's back to pluim park for the rest of the season.

In a news flash: The NSWRU have given the Central Coast a side in the Sydney Suburban Shute Shield competition (pre-premiership season) this season will be over by August each year and the only difficulty would occur with a pre-season tournament around the dates of the World Club Qualifiers in 2005 (Shute Shield season ends in mid-May)

can they get rid of the "bears" motif on the seats (the light and dark grey seats spell out "bears")?

can they get rid of the "bears" motif on the seats (the light and dark grey seats spell out "bears")? Jeez, you've better eyes than mine! The motif is cunningly designed to make it look like there are people in the seats when there aren't dibo - welcome to another 'south of Mt White' - a select band of truly intelligent people, who know what is the best team in the land. Are you training it like some of us. Catch it at Strathfield - about 1hr15mins. Living at Stanmore now you aren't a Stanmore Hawks fan are you - oh the days I've spent at Arlington Oval - saved by the luscious Portugese tarts (custard guys, minds out of gutter!)
