I got a mate who wants to know your thoughts about the Toukley Gunners, he plays for them in 1st grade but he's too shy to post, even though he reads these. I reckon they're a thug club whos players are candidates for Long Bay. Anyone know who the players are....have any thoughts to talk em up or more appropriatly, put em down?

totally agree w/ VOR in that Brog's is great coach. Watched his tutelage alongside Alan Hackett of the U18's at Central Coast United in the NSW Youth Premier League 2 seasons ago, before being replaced by the "much" older Dick Kockass (who's now coaching Mariner Micks Ourimbah Uni's 1st grade) who I feel was to old to get the best out of the CCUFC U18's, which Brog's did well. This goes towards the youthful look of the Toukley side. Have a mate down at Woy Woy Soccer Club (and apparently just about everyone else at the club) who refers to them as "The Toukley Two-Heads." ;D

I play for Toukley - albeit in all age - and I can tell you that the Long Bay comment is way offside. I only saw first grade play a couple of times last season and I thought they did well considering they had only just been promoted. Rowdy is right, they do have an excellent coach and I think they could be a real force next season. I'd also keep an eye out for the mighty all age teams that we put out. As for Woy Woy calling us two headed, i can see the irony.

I heard that Damien Brown is looking to join Toukley once his contract with the Mariners has finished. And you never know because Toukley are looking for a new first grade coach.....!!!

I talked to Alex Tobin about the Brownie rumour and he said that he will speak to Damien about it. It looks like it could be confirmed by the end of the week!!!!

last season we had toukley in our comp (u18a's) and one of the Toukley players decked his coach during a game and got booted from the club.

No wonder he would have got kicked from the club he probally should be banned from playing in all clubs if he done somethin like that to his coach.
two seasons ago a team from Kincumber was playing toukley and Kincumber was winning 9-0 i think it was and there probally was still 10 - 15 minutes to play and the toukley coach pulled his players off.

They are what main stay premier league one teams refer to as yo-yo's (at least thats what they are called at umina).
They are in prem 1 at the moment, but will be relegated this year or the next. It seems every year some team from prem 2 will recruit a team of players through a coaching appointment, get promoted, and after a year or two they crash back to prem 2 after the recuited players move on (generally because of a lack of loyalty to any particular club). This cycle has been going on as long as i can remember.
I hope toukley go well, however i will tell you this. Unless your grade teams consist of a majority of players that have come through the club, Your chances of avoiding the yo-yo syndrome arent very good.
Thats just my opinion.
