And what the hell is going on, the home strip is going to be sky blue! We aint Sydney! The porter thing is true ------ we dont need f***en heros anyway Sydney shirts aint the worst bit they fit like a rashie Prob wont be back from the printers yet ( most likely round four) Makes me look kinda like a telly tubie Brand new admin, Same old f*** ups, etc. etc . Good game of football last night, 2-1 to the Central Coast!
A couple of good goals, the woodwork was hit about 6 times, the Coast had a sending off and absorbed a hell of a lot of pressure, end to end action, ref was shit and it wasn't to cold! Trotty has f***ing huge goal kick too!
Skunk boy, whats the score? lol apart from my tiredness it was a good night!

They need to get a licence to sell grog tho. They would get bigger crowds that way without a doubt.

Trotty has f***ing huge goal kick too! Well, that's funny cos I thought the ref had a good game. He was fit and moved around the field well. His game showed the difference in quality between our best local refs and the Sydney Federation refs. He was always on the spot to deal with trouble. If he got it wrong occasionally, he dealt with the players fairly and firmly. The red card was tough luck, but both individual yellows were probably fair enough. I can't remember the first yellow, but the second was for deliberately tripping a defender, one on one in the attacking penalty area. I did wonder if the player was ever going to leave the field....he looked a bit stunned! agree with the rest, and Trotty and the Liverpool keeper were playing ping-pong at one stage!

The ref was very inconsistent - gave fouls for incidents that didn't warrant a free kick, then he let the game flow for something that deserved a free kick.
Boags possibly back next week for the Lightning!

LIGHTNING BOSSES LIVERPOOL
Goals from Matt Simon and Jamie Lobb earned the Central Coast Lightning 1st Grade side a 2-1 victory over FC Bossy Liverpool in its Winter Super League 3rd round clash.
Aleks Canak was the scorer for the visitors at Pluim Park in an exciting match that also saw Lightning’s Clint Smith sent off for two bookable offences.
The win takes the Lightning to four points from two matches, and with a game in hand on the sides above them, the Central Coast is within striking distance of the top of the table early in the competition.
The match kicked off in perfect football conditions in front of around 700 football fans, up to 300 of which had travelled from Sydney in support of the away team.
The visiting contingent almost had reason to cheer in the 2nd minute when Lightning and Central Coast Mariners keeper Matthew Trott made an error but Canak missed an open goal from 18 yards.
In the 12th minute Simon sent an early warning to Liverpool by forcing a save from Phill Zabaks from outside the area.
Liverpool were perhaps creating the better chances though with Dino Imamovic and Alex Asanovic unable to hit the target.
Sead Kacanic was having an epic battle with Lightning captain Chris Fleming, but it was Fleming who had the last laugh when in the 36th minute he provided the assist for Simon’s goal.
From the halfway line Fleming delivered a perfectly placed and timed ball down the right channel were the Lightning’s movement had created space for Simon to run onto the pass and fire home across the keeper.
It took the powerful striker’s tally to two goals for the season from two games.
The away side was giving away too many free kicks and only a top shelf save from Zabaks denied Darren Cooper a sensational long-range goal before half time.
Early in the second half Simon failed to capitalise in a one-on-one situation before Bossy captain Mirza Sehic clipped the top of the bar with a beautifully struck free kick from 30 yards.
In the 53rd minute both Simon and Asanovic were booked in a fiery incident that sparked the previously placid crowd into life, and in turn transformed the match into as good an end-to-end encounter as you will see on a Saturday night at Pluim Park.
Almost immediately, Cooper found space on the right to cross but his ball drifted over the keeper’s head and off the crossbar, but luckily for the home side Lobb was on hand to collect the rebound and fire an unstoppable shot into the net.
Simon’s shot tested the crossbar again and Sasha Utjesenovic forced Trott into a save before Liverpool really got back into the game through Canak.
Trott had looked fairly solid stopping shots and sweeping behind his defence but had looked shaky under high shots and that was the case again when Canak lobbed a well-placed volley over the young custodian from 20 yards.
Smith was then dismissed after an innocuous foul saw referee Kurt Ames produce a second yellow card.
With a numerical advantage, Liverpool were really going for it and they got the ball in the back of the net once more, only to have the play called back for a push on Trott.
In pushing forward they left holes at the back, and Ben Kirkman was the hero with two challenges that saved certain Lightning goals.
It really was a grandstand finish as both keepers and woodwork were tested at both ends but Lightning held on to notch up a deserved win in the first home of the 2006 season.
Next week they travel to Rockdale to face table-topping Rockdale City Suns before returning to the home of Central Coast Football on April 1st to host Dulwich Hill.
