who is coming to watch?
it's the QFs of the cup competition and lightning have to play premier league apia liechardt. i was thinking the romance of the cup might shine on the CCL but then i heard matt simon was out suspended!
from soccernsw "The same night, but at 7.30, Super League Central Coast Lightning host Vodafone Premier League, A.P.I.A. Leichhardt Tigers, at Pluim Park.
Central Coast will be without striker Matt Simon, who was red carded in his team’s 2-1 loss at Granville on Saturday night and the visitors will be looking to the Cup to provide some silverware this season as Premier League honours look well beyond them now."
i reckon thats a big loss but they've been hard to break down at home so there's still plenty of hope.

Froggy told me about the red card - Lightning are not happy!
The ref was an idiot and didn't speak a word of English, apparently matt got a second yellow for a dive, yet had stud marks in his leg showing he was actually fouled? His first was for swearing after a bad offside call, but he wasn't even the one opening his mouth.....lol.....it just wasn't his day by the sounds of it!
I'm planning to try and be there thou

Good afternoon! Central Coast Lightning Men are playing against APIA Leichhardt at Pluim Park "The Home of Central Coast Football" in the Quarter Finals of the Continental Tyres Cup. This is an amazing accomplishment for our mens team to make the top 8 from 51 original teams as well as being the last Super League team in the pool of Premier League teams. This is the biggest game for soccer on the Central Coast, outside of the A-League. Kick-off is at 7:30pm with gates opening at 6:30pm. The night will also feature the Central Coast Football Operations Manager, Murray Nettheim, shaving his head for the Leukaemia Foundation’s World’s Greatest Shave during the half time break. His target is $5000 and donations can be made by contacting Murray at the CCF office on 4362 2216 or by email at operations@ccfootball.com.au. Additional entertainment will be provided by Lisarow High School’s rock band. Entry fees, set by Soccer NSW for the entire Continental Tyres Cup competition, are $10 for adults, $5 for concessions, with 16 and under and life members free. As part of the entry fee, all persons who pay (over 16s) will receive a ticket into our draw for a Ken Duncan print of the final minutes of the Inaugural A-League Grand Final of the Central Coast Mariners vs Sydney FC. This prize has been generously donated by the Mariners. We will also be giving away 2 mobile phones in a SMS competition and a replica World Cup ball. Please see attached for the Prizes.
