The season pass for the Newcastle Jets is just the match day price times their eleven home games - no discount!!!!!
What's the point of buying a season pass then?
Let's hope the Mariners don't do the same thing.

Looks like its just a season ticket too, nothing about club membership, nothing that says you belong to the club or anything... are they nuts?
I'm a member of the Melbourne Footy Club (AFL), this is the package I have:
Country/International/Interstate Description: * FREE entry to five Melbourne home games at the MCG or The Dome * A Melbourne Football Club privilege scarf * Demons ‘To do list’ fridge magnet * MELBOURNEfc magazines one per household * Car stickers, swing tag, key ring and weekly ‘members only’ e-mail * Full voting rights (18 years and older) * Sandringham Football Club membership, FREE admission to VFL home games at Trevor Barker Oval * 10% discount on entry at the AFL Hall of Fame & Sensation
They have other packages but I couldnt get the details 'cos they are sold out/not available any more. Might seem like mostly crap but its better than just getting a ticket to all the games, and membership is a good incentive for people to join a club, follow all the games and stick with the team.. not expecting anything like that now though, considering what the other clubs are doing.

You know the worrying thing is that whoever put that 'package' together (for the jets) has probably got a marketing degree!...Thats f***ed!

You'd think they'd at least throw in a 10% off merchandise card or something

They don't have any fans anyway

They don't have any fans anyway I'm sure they will have plenty of fans....Newcastle is very loyal when it comes to their teams, but I gotta say....It doesn't look good at the moment. Their fans forum is DEAD! or close enough to it that it barely has a heart beat!

Pretty much dead - maybe we should go on there and talk about how crap Newcastle is (except for this one time I went there and we were walking past a bar and it had dollar shots... don't remember much after that)

Theres not much to talk about, thats why the forum is quiet at the moment. Our next game isn't for a few weeks, and the majority of users discuss the national team on national forums such as TWG.
Plus we don't have the novelty of a new club like yous do.

And regardless, if you look at every thread that's being talked in at the moment here, none of them are about the novelty of a new club. We're talking about stuff like kits that have just as much relevance to Jets, and organising functions to move ourself forward. We have a bit of passion and know how down this way!

crooky and co have the passion and post often but others have not jumped on board
newcastle jets have a very long way to go in public relations to get more passionate supporters like at cc and syd

ok sorry crooky if it sounded like i was attacking you. but still, crook should be placing the blame on the clubs PR or the un-enthused fans, not making excuses like there's nothing to talk about.

Its amazing what a bit of success does....I know that we (marinators) were very active on here before the kick off for CWC, but I think it's got bigger and has more momentum because of the success of the club in the CWC and also in Hong Kong.
Maybe the jets need to get a couple of wins under their belt to start creating some interest and enthusiasm in their supporters?
I for one hope that happens and their support base grows much larger than it is now (or was for the CWC) its much better for the game and the atmosphere when the 'behind the goals' bays are full (of people and rivalry!)
sort of follows the line you were talking about mick...lets see how many we get when we have a bad run of results?

Its OK, WyomingTiger, i didn't think you were trying to attack me.
I think the passion you guys have for CC is great, and I wish Newcastle was the same. But our forum is definitely not dead.
We only have a small number of members (<200), which is probably due to our small supporter base, but its also because not many people really know about our site.
There was a link to our forum on the official NUFC site for a month or 2 and in that period we had over 70 new members join, but the link has since been removed and the number of new people signing up has basically stopped. I have been meaning to contact NUFC to see if they can give our site a plug again, but as yet I haven't got round to it.
I'm sure the forum will be a lot more active come August.

No worries mate, like Lou said, I hope all goes well so we can see a huge following in the stands on match day, and make our supporter rivalry an epic one for years to come.

The only bit of real football thats come out of newie, is craig johnson, in the 70's, but everyone has forgotten about him.
