Going back to the football side of things..............NZ will be competitive they have a few good signings. I don't think division 2 footy is of a better standard, believe me, I watched it for years and there's some shocking mistakes made. Put any A League side up against Lincoln and I have no doubt who would win 9 times out of 10, if it was going to be such a bad standard then the likes of Yorke, Zdrillic, Muscat, Nelic etc would not be here.

Injuries will play a huge part in who wins this competition, a 20 man squad is not enough! Have 4 injuries and 1 suspension (which is very likely) and your down to the bare bones!

I think a 20 man squad is not enough, especially with Kevin Muscatt in the league, he will either be suspended or breaking bones....the guy's a nutter! DJ Grounsell I think the English League is good, I think Sydney would beat Bristol Rovers, but lose to Leyton Orient.

I really have to disagree and say the standard of english lower league football is going to be much better then the a-league. Football is an english game remember! As more foreigners play in the premier league better players stay in the lower leagues! There will not be many players in english league 1 or 2 that wouldnt walk in to any aussie teams! Maybe not the NZ team. Watch out for names like Tommy Mooney, Stefan Oakes, Chris Carruthers! all good players in league 2!
On another point is alf stewart dead yet?

Cricket is an English game too Firstly I wont claim to be an expert on the matter because I'm not. But regardless of 'who could beat who' from there and here I'd rather watch a Mariners game any day because the route one style attack and hack em down style defense in the lower leagues of england put me to sleep.

Fish, really? years? i am hoping for black armbands all round on opening day of the season!!!
Honestly i think it would be a close game between the teams, but id guess in the a-league the teams will have more time on the ball, weather affecting the energy making people run less!!!
Cricket? you can have us on that but we have smashed bangladesh every game!

Ben and Laurence - your spastics!
Don't worry about these 2 shit stiring pommy wankers from the slums of Ickenham, England!
You guys know as well as me that Danny Senda wouldn't make it in the A league!

If you hate union so much, why would you care if England won a match? You walked into that one!
There's a difference between World Cup Holders and World Champions, England are World Cup holders, they played well in that tournament but have been dismal since (winning 3 games since November 22 2003 and being beaten by NZ A)

As much as I agree with you Omni I enjoyed every second when Jonny Wlikinson kicked that drop goal! England never win anything so when we do we never forget it, we're the best losers in world sport....lol.....
Union is a pretty crap game anyway, especially at club level!

Division Two tactically superior??
Hmmm....not so sure abuot that one. Long ball hell is what I would describe it as!!! ;D
I think technically our players for the most part will match that quality, and the Managers will not be too far off either...although some will be better than others, and yes, I am thinking of Pierre Hollywood unfortunately.

do you reaqlly have someone called pierre hollywood? i think some managers in league two would be good enough for your league especially the tache that is John Gorman!!!! Though Danny Senda has greatley improved over the last few years DJG!!! And its not all long ball in the english lower leagues though some teams do play it now and again! I am glad alf stewart is not dead the bay needs to be saved from flaming gallahs!!!
