we lacked someone who held up the ball to play the midfielders back in, sometimes its more about playing in the team to score goals than scoring goals yourselves from a lower percentage shot... viduka will be a big loss when he goes.
on a further note, i thought beauchamp was poor tonight and holman was too... still could be worse.... thank f%$# patty kisnorbo wasnt out there!

How good are the Mariners! Starting centre back, substitute striker, reserve left back and commentating defender! And top of the table!!!!!

Kennedy was on fire. Now HE is the kind of guy I want to see there in 2010. Best on park for us. What farken game were you watching? He was OK in patches, Meggsy did OK, Bresc back to his better times, Vincenzo not the ghost that went to Asia, Carney did well, and how great to see Nik come on?

just from that game i was alot more hopeful of Kennedy and excited with balls in the air into the box than i was with Viduka up front.
after the last few games ive been taking more of a liking to HAL players than i have some European players such as Holman, Wilkshire, Kisnorbo.

RE:the goal... I actually think it was Neill's fault. Kennedy was marking the argies player and the near post area and lucas got caught ball watching and lost his man who was demichellis. Schwarzer should make way when Vuko, Jones, Covic or Coe are available. I thought Carney and Bresciano were impressive and i culina skinning heinze was the best. Kennedy i think is stilla bit rusty from his 18 months out but come Qualifiers i think he'll be right. MRDJA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! another central coast socceroo to add to the list.

Culina's little dance on the wing bought a smile to my face - good to see us standing up and having a go. ;D Kevrenor - ummmmmm, the Australia/Argentina game in Melbourne....... what about you?? Bear just SMS-ed me and said that GGA sung Melbourne songs for most of the night. So much for having a go at an 'Australian' Home End in Melbourne then....... let's show them how it's done tomorrow night.

Schwarzer not to blame for the goal, and when he takes a knock and it's faulty of all people getting ready on the bench you realise that Schwarz is actually good value.
Whether or not 'he is the man' to take us to 2010 is irrelevant - it's whether anyone stands up and shows they are better than him by then. At the moment no one is, so he is our man.
Kennedy was our best imo and Grella and Bresc showed their class.
That was more of a World Cup type performance, by our second string side against their first string, just goes to show how hard the conditions were in Asia.
Why Arnold persists with Holman I don't know. It's like he wants to have 'discovered' him when really there's nothing above average to discover.

I dont think Schwarzer was at any fault for the goal ,well possibly having faith in a defence that looked to have no idea on that occasion.
Im with you Brett, Holman WTF? I understand Arnolds loyalty but enough is enough blood someone else ,as he said at the press conference hes used 50+ players in his 18 month tenure and still picks a couple of duds.
Kennedy for mine was great, hussled back to help when needed and used his strength in the air well ,now we just need to find the right man to run off him and the front 2 will be hard to knock over.

Kevrenor - ummmmmm, the Australia/Argentina game in Melbourne....... what about you?? Droll serious! Look, I know he looks like Jesus but he's not the Messiah. OK, he worked hard, got some nice headers and a great cross, but he was slow, not just slow of foot but slow of mind too many times to give him a big tick. Just a smiley stamp.

Sure you were watching the same Jesus I was?? Was the Marinators Jesus inadvertantly in your loungeroom?? Also, evidently there was a flare ripped by some Melbourne fans - when are these cockheads going to learn??

I agree fully, maybe still a bit rusty, but Viduka is still a class above. (Watch out Serious the old blokes are ganging up on you. ) However the World Cup is in 3 years time, hopefully he will improve on a promising start. The same with Schwarzer, he is still above the rest. Holman and Wilkshire can go and play with Kisnorbo and on last nights performance they can take Carle with them. Good to see Thompson show some form in an international. Overall I thought it was an improved performance on the Asian Cup. It was good to see more confirmation that the A-League players (and I use the term loosely, including Carney and Meggsi) while not necessarilly at the level of the top Europeans are definitely a cut above those playing in the second tier comps.

Totally disagree - he was actually quite quick for a big man. Looked much better than Viduka in that singular CF role.

Someone had better tap some "knowitall" football managers on the shoulder & tell them they all stuffed up. Better start with Celtic where the silly buggers paid Viduka 3.5 mill. pound & gave him an undeserved Scottish Premier League player of the year medal.
Then get your arse over to leeds where the silly bastards paid him 6 mill. pounds to score 59 goals in the very poor English Premier League. (got nothin on the aleague) Hurry on to Middlesbrough & tell them how stupid they were for signing a crap player in a crap league where anyone can score goals.
Dont forget to give them shite over at NUFC for signing Viduka, & while your there, tell them you have a far better stiker who plays in a far superior 2nd division league in Germany, & even better, he looks like an anglo version of a middle eastern prophet. The dumbarses in the EPL just don't football eh. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

My mistake. Thought he was in 2. Bundesliga.
Trying to find him on the Bundesliga website. What club is he with?
Don't worry. Found it. Nuremberg
