A reasonable performance from the Mariners (with a few ring ins :-))
Seriously though.
Given Kennedy's long lay off I thought he went alright , Neill was at fault for the goal IMHO there wasnt a lot the keeper could do about it. Lucas seems somewhat accident prone at this level doesnt he??
Holman continues to underwhelm at this level tbh and it would have been nice to see Nik given longer than 10 mins.
To be fair to him, Carney was very solid and left back/WB seems to suit him.
Unless it was the position of the ground mikes, the crowd seemed v quiet. You would expect more noise if the game was played in Sydney.
And yes, we do need to sort out the keeper situation before 2010 - but not Bolton

My mistake. Thought he was in 2. Bundesliga. Trying to find him on the Bundesliga website. What club is he with? nurnberg. was with dinamo dresden before that, but moved to nurnberg last year. has been playing in germany for years now and is only 24 or so. i thought he put himself about well and would really do with having a player nicking in and around him for knock-ons, flicks and lay-offs. would like to see him (and nick carle, and brett holman, and archie, and...) pull the trigger once in a while. the whole side was very shot-shy, and too many times they tried to pass through gaps that weren't there or left the man in possession isolated. and lucas neill... classic failure to mark his man, easy finish. that and meggsy's and carney's mistakes in giving away the foul that resulted in the free kick were the worst of it, but the boys weren't too bad. still reminds me of the line 'draws at home are not good enough' - and we didn't do that. teams should come to australia and expect to be beaten unless they have a great night and we have a crap one. we don't have a home fortress, and we need to build on that. with many more competitive home matches in asian and world cup qualifying campaigns we've got to make it hard for visiting teams.

Sources tell me Heff had it hard to get arnold to include him. Apparently, so I hear, Heff had Arnold as a PE teacher in school, and gave him alot of shit at school. Hence arnold not wanting him in the team, or to play him. Had to really be showing good form before arnold was forced to choose him.
That is what i am told anyway, thouh a pretty reliable source.
