In reply to DJ's post: Did we win one Test.....Nooooo Did we win two Tests....Nooooo and so on until DID WE WIN 5 TESTS...........YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!! Oh, we won 5 and they won none, doo-dah, doo-dah!! Wrong sport Auburn - Cricket requires very little skill (now I wait for Auburn to go nuts) - Cricket produces many fine athletes like Mike Gatting! cricket requires an immense amount of skill, strategy and thought - just less athleticism than some of the other faster sports it is one of the most technical sports in the world - hence players peaking when they are around 35

.. When English fans sing god save the queen there is no other nation that sings as loud and as proud, it sometimes send shivers down the spine! I thought England's anthem was Land of Hope And Glory? GSTQ is the United Kingdom's. LOHAG always sends shivers down my spine, even though I resent the arrogant thieving Saxon swine! Ny a vydna cara Sawson! As long as we don't get TEAM USA! I'll spew!

players don't peak at 35 in cricket lol, how many top players have ever peaked at 35? cricket requires a good eye and accuracy, just like darts! Strategy comes into it too when considering field placings I'll give you that! The english national anthem is LOHAG for the commonwealth, and GB has GSTQ your right, but of course england fans will always sing GSTQ. People look at the UK as England anyway, who gives a f*** about taffs, jocks and paddys?

DJ,
No, I won't go nuts. I love cricket, it's in my blood, like Football and Australian Rules. The fact that I was a passable cricketer is evidence that you don't need to be a magnificent athlete. But as Mick said, you have to be VERY switched on up top, particularly at representative level.
As for national anthems, "Flower of Scotland" is spine-chilling, ESPECIALLY if Scotland are playing England or Scotland is playing at Murrayfield. Having lived there, I like USA's "Star-Spangled Banner", and "La Marseillaise" is also a great anthem.
But the best national song/thing of ANY country is when the All Blacks do the full haka!! BRING IT ON!!! Poor Merry hates it when we play the Blacks, as I get quite loud.

People look at the UK as England anyway, who gives a f*** about taffs, jocks and paddys? most cricketers (batsman) peak around 35 these days having a good eye is only a small part of being a good cricketer and accuracy comes through years of working on technique e.g. mcgrath in latter years, brett lee improving accuracy in recent years, tate young and fast but not accurate younger people have better eyes than older people but if having a good eye is the key to successful cricket why are there so few international cricketeres under 27 years of age? successful batting requires on the most part having a solid technique and this is achieved through years of practice - therefore acquiring skill if batting is about having a good eye then every successful baseballer could become successful cricketers, but they don't i have plenty of a-grade sydney baseballers playing in my comp, doing OK, but unable to progress to higher levels because they do not have the technique bowl full on their legs and they are screwed

and "La Marseillaise" is also a great anthem. damn straight - cop this finish: Aux armes, citoyens! (To arms, citizens!) Formez vos bataillons!(Form your battalions!) Marchons, marchons! (Let us march, let us march!) Qu'un sang impur (May tainted blood) Abreuve nos sillons!(Water our fields!)

it wont make a loss the bandwaggoners will be onto it after the press go nuts over beckham Agree. It'll be packed like a Take That performance with schoolgirls who've never sat through 90mins before.

Star Spangled Banner - Deliberately written to be difficult to sing, which is why Hendrix did it on hyperamplified electric guitar! La Marsellaise - would be good if it wasn't the French's. God Save the Queen/King - cannot bring myself to sing it, after having it bashed into me at school in the days before Advance Australia Fair. And no way in the wide world would anyone be crazy enough to go up to a Hall of Famer for the Rangers and accuse him of being an English wannabee!

great work! i honestly think these two matches against Syd and Wellington will be a major boost in their crowds which might be of some use to their HAL campaigns.
