Perth don't have enough depth IMO esp up front and their two strikers, while impressive, have not been "worked out" yet so time will tell if they have the goods for the season proper IMO they will have the best midfield in the comp if Rizzo shines

Champions: Mariners Premiers: Melbourne Mariners position on Ladder: 2nd Mariners player of the season: Heffernan Mariners Top Scorer: Mrdja/Petrovski tie. A-League Top Scorer: Thompson Wooden Spoon: Newcastle U20 Player: Boogaard HAL Player of the Season: NFI! Coach of the Year: Lawrie McKinna Out of left field: Muscat stretchered off in Melb vs. Mariners match at Bluetongue by Omni's crew! Grand Final played at Bluetongue vs. Adelaide, after they revenged last season's humilating GF loss in the Prel. Final. Despite considerable political pressure from sections of the FFA & Media to play the GF at SFS (ex Aussie Stadium), McKinna, Gorman and Turnbull hold a joint press conference and refuse to budge. One of the Mariners assistant coaches is alleged to have been poached by Sydney for the following season. Michael Kmet joins Foxtel commentary team and becomes infamous for punching out Robbie Slater in a heated exchange of opinions during one Sydney vs. Mariners match.
