Ok, i know by this point its getting just too easy to bag out the poor guys up north, but seriously newcastle come on, atleast try and defend urselves by putting up a fight and doing SOMETHING right. They have the nerve to say they are trying to challenge and convert NRL fans over to the jets and they havent even got an up to date or complete team page on their website, any new fans they are hoping to attract wont have a clue what noel spencer looks like, nor will they even realise that they have signed Jardel and the other Santos guy....get with the program guys, the season starts in 2 days!!!!!

Sorry to get off topic, but it's not a song title (the name of the song you're thinking of is "I'm Gonna Be"). And I'm not ashamed of my age in knowing that, since it was released in the late 80's (<20yrs ago). "500 miles away from home" by Ray brown & the Wispers as well as others, is what I thought was the reference......It was released in...........a bloody long time ago. Long enough ago for me to have seen Bill Haley & the Comets, The temptations & Johny O'Keef live on the same card. Real Rock n Roll back when cool dudes stepped out in flares & body shirts, the flower children escaped to Nimbin in their Combie vans & the 18 yr olds waited to see if their name was drawn for national service in Vietnam, by self righteous politicians playing lottery with their lives. . My mistake - but i guess not knowing it also revealed my age (or lack thereof). I guess that's also why i also lose at trivia nights to people with "more experience"

any new fans they are hoping to attract wont have a clue what noel spencer looks like Shouldn't be too hard for them to identify him on the field, he'll be the one constantly kicking the ball to Ante Covic.

It's always nice to come back onto this forum for some light-hearted reading ;D I'd like to take this opportunity to wish you guys well for the upcoming season. It's much more enjoyable taking on the local rivals when they're doing well. If any of you would like to catch up for a beer or two on derby day, you're welcome to come along to the Jets Sports Club on Bryant Street Adamstown - home of The Squadron for V3. You're not getting cheap drinks though Cheers, Todd Acting Prez, The Squadron

But this isnt anyone that works or supports the clubs fault. ITs the owner. The office is way undermaned with only 5 employees atm, where Clubs like Victory and Syndey havd 15 on staff. Its a complete joke and it needs to be fixed asap!

Maybe you should ask Con if he could possible arrange one of his stall tennants at the MARKETS to do the updates on his team pages on the website !
Maybe he could do a cheap deal on the rent?

As I said, unfortunatly its a few who can poison a whole, its unfair but is true, Yeah, you're right. Just look at how Con 'Casino' Constantine' ruined it for Newcastle.

At breakfast in Newcastle this morning and talking to one of the Jest sponsors. Apparently they have never dealt with an organisation so inept before (and that includes the Knights!!).
They alleged that their belief was that con doesnt have the money to match the other 7 clubs (obvious) but no one else will get involved with him so until he walks/gets the punt/sells, they will always lurch from NSL like crisis to crisis.
As the Knights implode, they have the perfect opportunity to cash in to what is a sports mad town but dont have the $$ or the brains to do it.

That's it in a nutshell. Though I think his stubborn streak (read indignation) only allows one of the three options.

loved this in a Foxsports article re: Jardel
"Egmond left Tarek Elrich, Scott Tunbridge, Noel Spencer and Drovandi out of the squad against the Roar. "They were out purely on form," van Egmond said. "
