Source A-LEAGUE champions Sydney FC has suffered a huge blow with marquee signing Juninho out for at least a month with a shoulder injury. The former Brazilian international hurt his right shoulder when brought down in a crunching tackle during the club's 2-2 draw with Adelaide United last Saturday night. Under normal circumstances Juninho, who was getting close to his best form, would require what would be a season-ending operation, but he is keen to fulfil his commitments with the club. The South American will now undergo intensive rehabilitation with a view to managing the injury and getting him back on to the field within a month.

He may have stirred it up against Adelaide but I heard it is a pre-existing injury he brought with him to the club.

Without Juninho, I have doubt whether or not Bling could score this weekend. There's probably going to be another 0-0 draw this weekend.

What part of "I told you so" could I not say?? Over-rated and too old before he got here, and now this, after doing sweet f*ck all for 2 games...... (anyone who goes 'oh oh, but that through ball against Adelaide', I present to you our entire midfield for 2 full games) Sydney FC continue to shoot themselves in the foot with this _stupid_ obsession over getting a "big name" (Whoninho??) marquee. Seriously guys, if your team is good enough, then it's going to draw the fans in....... do they honestly think that Whoninho would stay beyond his one year deal, that he'll ever kiss the badge in front of the Cove?? 1 million dollars............ what a waste. Not like it's helped with their crowds either.

But you could say that about Bolton too :-)
FFS - a $1m a season for someone who's only claim to fame is getting Boro relegated in the 90's (and being a sub at a WC final).
What Farkin terrible luck HAHAHAHAHAH

Not like it's helped with their crowds either. i disagree with you on a number of levels. first, their crowds aren't that bad, considering the frankly dire football that was served up to them last year. second, juninho's pretty handy IMO, and anyone who gets brosque in on goal without resorting to hanging a carrot and nosebag from the net supports has to be decent. he wasn't too bad against us either for a fella who was pretty badly underdone. more than enough of our yellow colleagues were saying so in the pub afterwards and on here in days that followed, so i know i'm not imagining it on my own. third, i think SFC really do need big name (i.e. non-football people have heard of them) players or else they really don't stand a chance of getting column inches. not a problem we have, but doesn't mean it's not true for them.

Meh, so he is injured for four weeks. he will have three games under his belt by the time we next play Sydney in round 10. He will possibly still play 17 of Sydney games this year and that may be more than wilko plays for us and more than Nik played the last two years.
Frankly I appreciate Sydney paying to bring him out here so I can watch a boro legend run around. if he is worth what he is reportedly on is debatable but he brings a high profile name to the league.
And to actually be happy that someone is injured is just plain disgusting.
Maybe I'm bias being a Boro fan.

Pre existing condition? Gees, Jedi must have loosened it too, before the Adelaide game - he gave him a fair bit of 'welcome' tackling.

This sort of post-signing news kinda sh*ts me. Do they not have physicals and medicals before going ahead with the contract?
If his condition was what prevented him from getting a gig elsewhere, did Sydney think that no one else would find out.
What manager of an A-League team wouldn't make phone calls o.s. if they got a sniff that Juninho had problems getting a gig? And what would any decent manager do, if it came to his attention that Juninho had a dickey shoulder? Did Juninho and Sydney think everyone would leave him alone or something? Was this the real meaning behind Culina's pleading to the refs to give Juninho 'protection' from 'thuggery'?
Maybe someone who has some inside network in Sydney FC could fill us in? Pre existing condition that they risked, or not known at the time of medical/physical?

Would you like to hear "Am I ever gonna see your face again?" whilst dancing the cha cha, or "I go to Rio" whilst dancing the samba? ;D

Frank move your team to Parramatta and get some managers in there to do some hard slog. Because as much as I hate Sydney we don't want you to fall over which is were your headed right now.
