Just saw that this is on Sat Dec 1, the day after the Phoenix play at home to Adelaide.
I think this is a bit of a farce.
They are going to package the tickets up together, which is a good idea, but that's probably the only good thing to come out of this.
What sort of team is Wellington going to put out on the park? Obviously A-League is priority so they are either going to give their first teamers a less than ideal recovery or they will put out their second string which will be of a pretty poor quality, as any A-League club's would be.

The crowd will be going to see Beckham not the Phoenix

Beckham & Co. against a second string team isn't going to have anyone excited about coming back again.

The crowd will be going to see Beckham not the Phoenix True, but I think this arrangement will take some of the spectacle and occasion away from the game. Certainly in the Sydney market, I could imagine that if Juninho nutmegged Becks and scored a goal, the dozens of thousands of Beckham-feeders that show up might consider coming back to check out Sydney FC the week after.

IMO if we were playing this fixture, i would be hoping that Lawrie fields our best squad so we can put on a good a match.

How long after the sydney match is this?
Id say they will keep basically the same team. Could pay well, The key is that people will see the nix in full strength against adelaide. Since the price of the ticket is included. How they go against beckham will be irrelevant if people enjoyed the match vs adelaide.
