For anyone who is interested and has not seen how the new Wembley stadium is going check out this link. What an amazing stadium it will be when finished! www.wembleystadium.com/brilliantfuture/photodiaryI was also reading today that the cost of building it was estimated at $757 million (I think), but its gonna cost an extra $79 million roughly! Thats a big error in judgement if you ask me!

$79 million is about 10% which isn't that bad in construction and this should have been budgeted.
Our capital works on campus have about a 20% continguency.

True I guess, but that's a hell of a lot of money!
The stadium is expensive enough as it is!

They also had issues with the steel suppliers they were using which eneded up costing a fair whack of money to sort out.

Any high profile project with deadline has pounds thrown at it. Millenium dome, jubilee line, government works etc.
Its a free for all. The trades will be making an absolute killing...get it whilst its there boys. I did it many many times.
I dont care about the cost, but it will be an awesome stadium. Even better than Cardiff, itself a great stadium.
To be honest, there are amazing grounds popping up everywhere. Arsenals new one will be up the road and looks class. The new anfield should be awesome aswell. Exeter city have just had some new seats put in the dugout, apparently.

Exeter City is always at the forefront of stadium expansion. Isn't their stadium nicknamed "The Future Dome"?

my dad is the Asset Manager of Olympic park and worked for Multiplex during the Olympic games as the Contract Engineer for Stadium Australia (Telstra Stadium). he constantly rants about the problems that they have been having etc. always in contact with their offices about this job. seeing he dealt with the same crap thats involved to build em very interesting stuff and its looking great! cant wait for the first football match there.

last game there was Germany defeating England.
i would rather it be a derby than an international match like that to open the new stadium.
