...the traditional boxing day derby between Exeter and Plymouth was SURELY as big as it gets. All that throwing cold chrimbo turkey and polystyrene cups of hot bovril into the away end, knowing devonshire bragging rights were on the line for 12 months. Was all good until we got relegated........sniff.
Local rivalrys are great. Ours with the jets is shaping up nicely after only one year!
As for AS,I actually thought he was pushed out the door due to financial restraints on the club. It was well known at the time how dismayed he was. But IF he was forced out of his club, and had the chance to make himself financially secure and the genuine chance to win medals, maybe its understandable he went to mancs when they came knocking. Rivals are rivals of course, and i would be bitter, but i dont think he willingly went. IMO it was never a 'Mo Johnston going to Rangers' situation.

Yeah look like I said, I dont blame the guy for leaving our club. It was probably mutually agreed that he couldnt be retained financially (no one was, except Eirik Bakke who no one wanted to buy because he had a 9 month injury) but they weren't the only club who wanted him. It might be unreasonable but in mot Leeds' fans opinions he should have gone to a different club, if for less money.
