just saw on TWG that none other than our good mariners friends from grimsby town are trialling roars royce browlie.
no big deal but my point is its funny how clubs you only recently learn about always seem to pop up here and there afterwards.

I heard that too - the A-League is a better standard than division 2 so he should be in with a shot

speaking of small football worlds, where ever i go, i usually end up seeing someone i know from my local club or the marinators. i love a sport that can bring everyone together like that.

I heard that too - the A-League is a better standard than division 2 so he should be in with a shot Huhumm, soon to be League 1! ;D better chance than Wycombe getting there thats for sure! Division 1 is still a lower standard, I reckon somewhere between mid championship and mid division 1 would be right? But the likes of Beauchamp, Carney, Heffernan, Brosque etc could mix it in premiership teams or well known championship teams.

Absolute cobblers, none of those players can yet even dream of playing in even the Championship let alone the EPL.
Meggsi is the most talented of all of them and he might be able to play top league 1.
Dont forget that that Elrich was laughed out of Fulham this season and he is a bit better than the guys on that list - now plying his trade on loan in Norway I think??
Carney was shown the door by Everton, failed in Scotland and Brosque is one of the most over rated players in the A League.
Lets not get carried away - A league is better than the NSL but really needs those expats currently plying their trade in 2nd and 3rd rate Euro leagues to return (which they will over time).

I watched lower division football for many years, I have a decent idea on how good the quality is, I ain't saying I know it all coz I don't but everyone is entitled to an opinion. When my old man came out from England for both Sydney games he was so impressed with MB also. Look at Yeo - top scorer in league 2, yet over here was a pile of shit, does that not show (or have a good indication) that the best lower league players are no where near the A-League standards, Devine is another perfect example there! I don't see why it's so outragous to say the better players in the league are championship quality, and the top quality players can progress further? but hey as I said opinion vary. Brosque was maybe a bad example but he still has lots to learn. None of those players can dream of EPL or Championship? Mmmmmm I guess the Bundesleiga will have to do hey, it's only a top european league

I guess Grimsby should do a pre season tour here and we can compare the standard. The whole crowd really would be Mariners til they die at that game!
