Agree with Omni - the actual game is the only part I would watch now!
What about Victory with Sly Stallone and Pele! Classic!

Speaking of football movies, has anyone seen much about the new "Goal!" trilogy that will be coming out soon? Les Murray had a good story on it on the world game site a little while ago, it'll still be there in his opinion archives i guess. Looks the goods, like a mighty ducks but far more serious/mature and with actual meaning. For those who dont know anything about it: Episode 1: Young kid in Los Angeles gets discovered and signs with an EPL club, dream debut season helping them win the league Episode 2: Transfer to Real Madrid (some of the galacticos in the movie and helps them win the champions league! Episode 3: Due to his Argentine parentage gets a national call up and, discovering his roots and remembering the reason he starting playing football, helps them win the World Cup. Apparently tackles all the issues of the modern footballer, drugs, women, temptation, money etc and after all that sort of shit he finally finds that national team football is where he can play for honour, loyalty, rather than a big fat salary. You get the idea

For great football films you can't go past Mike Bassett: England Manager. It's the funniest film going.

The great escape theme tune is very popular in England at footy games, most clubs sing the tune then shout their teams name at the end! Great fun!
