Just heard her for about the fifth time on radio today and boy is she getting up my nose.
You know, the first song was good - quirky, new, great lyrics.
However, the rest of her shit coming out lately is just whingey and really really annoying.
What's worse is that she has come from the popularity of a bunch of these really boring so called entertainers - pete murray, jack johnson, joss stone and to a certain extent john butler and ben harper
there was this new singer i saw on tele sunday morning that was a missy higgins clone but even more annoying
when will it stop?
i blame the whitlams - great band but their music has spawned all these people to be popular
so so over it

at least she wasn't spawned from aussie idol don't even start me on that i enjoy watching idol but i nearly wet my pants when kyle told a singer that to win idol he needs to have as strong a voice as shannon noll crikes, even a 12 year old squadron member has a stronger voice then shannon noll |

famous mate of his making a cameo in a music video, dont see what is so wrong with that.
when he comes to tour here he doesnt make a pit stop on every show (rove live, morning programs, the panel etc etc) like other artists predicatbly do (do they all hire the one agent when they come out here?)
but thats all just the music industry, what's important is the actual music.
his lyrics are actually about something, not like the lovey dovey and/or whingey whiney bullshit that plagues every other song out there. If a song isn't about a broken heart, it's about how hard life is (yes simple plan I cant believe how tough it must be being a millionaire in a hollywood mansion, cashing in on teenage angst with single after single about 'breaking down') then it's about trying your hardest (born to try - delta goodrem, even the only mainstream rock left in the world: be yourself - audioslave). At least JJ gets deeper than that, and writes and performs all his own stuff.

Don't blame The Whitlams (who were in a completely different form in 98) - if it was their fault they'd still be huge (ahh a guy can dream can't he)
I too am sick to death of this horrible singer - the Fashion she has spawned is shitting me too, someone make it stop.

yep..i thought I said he was a texan albino? great voice...... You may think I'm square, but Lyle Lovett has a great talent for the blues...(don't like it when he does C&W) oh, how good is lyall lovett beaten with an ugly stick but stillmanaged to pull julia roberts must have been the voice |

You may think I'm square, but Lyle Lovett has a great talent for the blues...(don't like it when he does C&W) just read your thread again and yes you did say that @#$% I'm tired  talk about Lyle Lovett singing the blues how's about Steve Earle or Dwight Yoakam the can both be bluesy from time to time.  I just loved the whole "New country scene" when it hit the airwaves way back when it brought country music out of the dark ages. |

oh boy i love the whitlams, no body i know has hears of them, i find that awfully suprissing. Missy is alrightbut her songs do get a bit annoying after you hear them a gazzillion times, greenday is cool, but U2 beats them all!! *go bono*

MM they can't all be as talented and as good to listen to as Natalie Merchant ;D but don't call, Missy, Jack or Pete boring they are far from that!!! What you don't like Greenday either
