One Week is BNL's worst song - completely out of their style, I like it, but yea not their best at all. Just like They Might Be Giants & Boss of Me - crap song by TMBG standards but it's a crap TV Show.
What about Blue Rodeo Ms Canada?

they're alright but a little country... i'm more into loud rock or bass.... used to be called alternative when it first came out...
either that or completely sappy.

As for The Whitlams killing themselves, I must say something controversial, I actually think this is the best line up the band has ever had, it's a stable lineup (only Tim in it has depression, thanks to his raging alcohol abuse) and they've made some great music. The two band members that commited suicide were never involved in any hits, except Andy was in No Aphro. (I wouldn't classify Hamburgers as a hit) And as much as I love Stevie Plunder and his songs, I don't think the band would ever have got the success they had with Stevie in the band as they never would have gone on to try the 'kitchen sink' stuff and add some rock into the band. yeah in technical ability it probably is the best line up they've had, but with out the other two i'm not so certain it is "the whitlams" anymore it's more tim and his band, try requesting leaping leprechauns and see the response you get, the only early whitlams song they play now is gough. I'm disappointed that we will never see them play with Louis Burdett as there drummer again. given that with out stevie's death no aphrodisiac wouldn't of been written i think he played a big part in it. agreed that i make hamburgers isn't a hit but then i like there quirky songs a lot more than there hits. still wish i had a copy of stupor ego! |

f*** tell me about it - damn I want Stupor Ego - shit album but it's the one I miss from the back catalogue!!! I have the FOW release.
They actually played a hell of alot of stuff from Introducing at the Doyalson gig - Lester Walker, Where is She, Gough, End of Your World & Happy Days. As for Leapin Leprechauns, love the song can't imagine it live, Tim never plays any songs I request live anyway - Band On Every Corner & Love is Everywhere. Must say my favourite Whitlams songs are not their hits at all.
I like Blue Rodeo - The Whitlams supported them once and they came out here and reciprocated, fairly good band.

.....that is the only band that has left me feeling dirty as i left there gig. don't know what to say to you...... except, Christa Hughes is a hot babe! ... and if you felt dirty - it's because she is a dirty slapper! hahahaha I walked out of a Transvision Vamp concert at Selinas in the early 90's feeling dirty. Or was it horny? Whatever. Standing down the front, slobbering all over the floor whilst watching Wendy James blatantly pleasure herself with the mic, mic stand, her own hand, the guitarists hands and anything else she could find with a phalic symbol had an affect on my adolescence. What a saltry dirty little tart she was. ;D At least she didn't want your money, she just wanted your love. Right now. A worthy addition into the rock chick hall of fame. |

I was listening to Steve Vai on my way to work!.. on iTunes also listen to Joe Satriani, Steve Morse, John McLaughlin and other electric guitar masters.... funny, you strike me as a dean martin fan am i close?
