U2 are actually coming this time!
March 31st - Socceroo Stadium, Olympic Park, Sydney $99-199
sorry Perm BDO ruins homebake by adding all this foreign shit into it. Having said that the line up looks OK this year (for once!) but I still won't be going.
2 gigs coming up: 25/11 - which I can't go to The Moody Jews play the Rose of Australia (Who the f*** are the moody jews? It's a secret) 26/11 - The Whitlams play the Metro - Tim Freedman's birthday gig damn me being broke.

I thought that the Violent Femmes "Violent Femmes" was the biggest selling indie album of all time. Nah mate. Defo Offspring (11m sales after Come Out And Play went through the roof on MTV). Hey, i saw live play at a festival in Germany once. They were ok but ALL the way thru their set Ed was yelling C'mon Sweden.....We LOVE you Sweden......Sweden you ROCK!!!!!. I kid you not. The first time i thought i was imagining it, then my mates and everyone else picked up on it to. Nutter!!

bah
Im so jealous of u that got to see Wolfmother more than once on the current tour. I really enjoyed the Metro gig (1st show) and usually if i even half like a band and their live performance, then i want to see them again
Couldn't make the 2nd metro show because of work, was planning to go to the Roxy gig the next night but obviously went up to Gosford for the CCM-SFC game, couldn't go to the Wollongong gig on friday because again i went up to Gosford for the CCM-QLD game and i had a party on last night (which don't come along all that often for me) so couldn't go to the Newy gig (and to be fair its probably a bit too far for me to go for a gig, especially if i want to have a few drinks).
Oh well, at least i get to see them again at the BDO (which will be my first) after the got announced in the 2nd round.
Speaking of which, for those going to the BDO and who have not seen this other great aussie heavy rock band, i can't recommend sydney band Cog highly enough. Their debut album The New Normal is one of my favourite albums and probably my no1 album of the year and the gig @coogee Bay Hotel with Karnivool & Grand Fatal would be up there with the 2nd Queens of the Stone Age show (1st Enmore show this year) as my all time favourite gigs
p.s how'd u manage to drink with the band Permboy?

We bumped into them after the Metro gig. we were in the alley next to the metro and they came out of the side door and we gave them our support and they told us where they were drinking. next thing you know we are sinking beers with them, James Mathieson from Channel V, Phil from Grinspoon, the Mess hall, and of course Wolfmother.
i had to leave early so i didnt get to meet them much, thus the reason why we were going to drink after the Newy gig.
i talked to Chris, the bassist/keyboardist, and he told me that theyre playing a mid afternoon set on the MAIN STAGE!!!

It's hard to go past Adalita if you're looking for an Aussie rock chick.

No idea who Adalits is. My al time two most favourite bands ever would be U2 and The whitlams, sadly they both had/have concerts in australiaand i dont get to go to either.

I haven't seen the Whitlams since 1999. Magic Dirt were great when I saw them in 2000.

Kanye West, f*** I was hoping it'd be a great innterational band or a good Aussie band, never heard this guy but I gather from ads on TV I'll guess he's a rapper. Damn, oh well I'm in seating so I don't have to see it.
