After hearing of my retirement from drinking my old man has pulled a bottle of 1978 world cup socceroo vintage port from the cellar and cracked it open!
On the bottle is
Australian Soccer Federation logo from the time: Green map of aust with wattle up north and a kangaroo holding a football in his hand in the great aust bight.
Text: "In support of the australian national teams participation in the 1978 FIFA world cup series. The team:
Coach - Jim Shoulder
Goalkeepers: Todd clarke, allan maher
Defenders: George harris, harry williams, colin bennett, peter wilson, jimmy tansey
Midfield: Gary Byrne, Jimmy Rooney, Agenor Muniz. dave harding, peter stone, gary marocchi
Forwards: Att abonyi, muuray barnes, john kosmina, john nyskohus, peter ollerton
