Make sure you get the new album it's a double CD Little Cloud & The Apples Eye (I think is what it's called now, it's been called so many things!!) so it'll be about 4hours of Whitlamsy goodness.

Whitlams, OK, just. Again, "No Aphrodisiac" is brilliant, but after that..........
Honey Soy, A-Ha, "Take on Me", mmmmm. I rate them up there with Wa Wa Nee ("I could make you love me") & Psuedo Echo (a poor cover of the clever "Funkytown"). There is a very famous clip off Countdown with the lead singer of A-ha, Morten, playing "Take on Me" with his keyboard not even plugged in, miming TERRIBLY.
James Blunt, a bit like the surname Cunis, neither here nor there. But it's all relative, the singing budgie turned super-ho Mariah Carey won some Grammys today and is now the biggest selling solo female artist of all time. That is truly scary (at least her first single, "Vision of Love", is excellent) and shows you don't need good songs anymore.

I remember everyone hating Limp Bizkit when they canceled on the BDO, even though they had damn good reason.

I know the Countdown clip you refer to. I saw it when it first aired with all my girlfriends. In my memory they were making a statement about not being allowed to play live on countdown. Morten Harket didn't play keyboards, Mags Furoholmen (sp?) did. Wa Wa Nee did a song about things being Sugarfree so were before their time. I love Diet Vanilla Coke. Doesn't make your teeth furry. Besides, it makes my point, A-Ha, Wa Wa Nee and Pseudo Echo were so cringey they are almost cool ... so cool they were mentioned on this forum. Maybe this will happen to James Blunt. I don't think it will happen to Mariah Carey. I saw Leo Sayer on TV recently because he's now cool.

Can you really see teenagers dancing around singing James Blunt on "Singstar 00's" in 2025 the way I do now with A-Ha? I cant. Just like I cant see Nickelback ever being revered in 20 years the way AC/DC, queen etc are now. I think what's more likely is a cultural renaissance in which society basically throws in computers in the bin to start dancing in the meadows again, and goes back to barter rather than currency. Paramount to this renaissance will be the ignoring of basically all the rubbish that has happened in the 00's, ESPECIALLY the music.

We all have embarrassing CDs from years ago in our record collections. Some of them are vinyl records or even ... tapes I had a tape of MC Hammer and Vanilla Ice... nuff said. Not a big fan of James Blunt. Sounds whiny. I'll agree with whoever said that the music these days is poor...even "disposable" as soon as the "next big thing" comes along. Nothing in the last 5 years could be considered a "classic" that'll be around in 20 years... sad really.

Bad new's people, good news for those James Blunt fans. Apparently he's doing two shows in Sydney in March I think. So they are bringing the whinger here. Where exactly is he from, he has the weirdest accent / voice i've ever heard. If its possible, he actually sounds more normal when he's singing!!!

If Mariners have been knocked out before his show (or if we win the GF prior to his show so guys like YB can collect the $1000's from bets they have on) the marinators should go to his show in force and drown the guy out. That way he will never come back. We should then proceed to drink the venue dry and go backstage to f*** all his ugly groupies.
