Hey, I wanna take some relo's I've got over from Holland on a tourist drive through the Hunter Valley, only problem is I've never been there and have no idea about the area, at all.
Anyone recommend a good route? I was thinking from here of going through Peats Ridge and Wollombi, but from there I dunno where to go; through Cessnock, Broke, up to Singleton...no idea. And on any map it looks like a maze of roads and routes.
Just a one day tourist drive trip, along the best scenic routes I suppose, with maybe one or two wineries in there somewhere and a nice pub lunch.
Anyone familiar with the area, I'd greatly appreciate any learned advice.

Turn right at Wollombi Pub and this road takes you Cessnock from which you can turn off to the vineyards. Bring a map on Friday and I will show the routes.

The Peats Ridge Wollombi route is really scenic, there is even a public observatory along the way, which is great to show your rels the southern sky. The pup at Wollombi is the home of Dr Jurds Jungle Juice, and there is always more to see further along. The road is pretty good now days, especially all the way to Bucketty.

Bring a map on Friday and I will show the routes. Gonna be doing this drive on Friday Mick. (and then I'm bringing them to the game). So, basically, ya reckon if I head from Wollombi to Cessnock, then from Cessnock head up towards Singleton...that'd be and alright drive? Thanks T, btw.

No Probs, I used to live at the observatory and still work there so i know the area pretty well, well at least to Wollombi. The only thing you need to watch is the wildlife and the locals on the road. Have a great trip
