Ok then....why would you want to pass up the opportunity to go see a huge event like this FOR FREE....seriously dude. Priorities. Its admirable that you feel torn, but no need to be a fool about it Go see Robbie. you know very little about me to be calling me a fool now bugger off before i start getting very pissed off Chill out pal..see the emoticon...indicates sarcasm/joking. You're right, I dont know you at all which is why I was joking about it....not actually seriously calling you a fool. Sheesh.

I saw the wink but I just don't why people can say anything they want and think it is then OK to put an emotican behind it.
An emotican does not make it OK once you have paid someone out.

OH MY GOODNESS!!!
I only just realised that this thread was about you Mick. If it was me, that would be one of the hardest decisions i'd ever have to make. I love Robbie, but no one wanted to come to the concert with me, so i'm missing out (for the second time might i add).
However, sunday's game is massive for us. If we win, it could push us into second (right?) and I wouldn't want to jinx anything (have to everything I always do). Kinda like Kwassie warming up with one sock up, one sock down.
Tough choice.

Mick,
Mariners game wins hands-down. Williams is a moderately talented, sex-addicted egomaniac with some fair pop songs. He has a ordinary voice and will spend the entire evening exhibiting his vanity and the 36000 pairs of knickers that will be thrown at him.
I understand that the set-up and backstage is enticing; given your studies and experience, the setup would be far more interesting than watching a 2 foot 1 mutant poncing around on stage like he is the latter-day love child of Elvis Presley and Freddie Mercury.
We need you this weekend. Full stop.
That is all.
Regards,
AM

Id go see Robbie backstage given the opportunity. why would you want to pass up the opportunity to go see a huge event like this FOR FREE.... Brendan, you're a top fellow and you're a close mate of mine and all that, but seriously, I wonder about you sometimes....... embracing a football team and making them a part of your life isn't about picking and choosing what games to go to and having things like a Robbie Williams concert (he'll release another album people, it's not like he won't be back) make you wonder whether you'd go to the Mariners game or not. I honestly think that the only things that should ever prevent attendance at a Mariners game should be: Family/Friend death Personal Injury prohibiting you leaving house/hospital And sweet f*** all else honestly. The Mariners _are_ life, and the rest is mere details. Embrace it, live it, love it.

Im not picking and choosing what games I come to. Yes he will tour again, but would Mick get this opportunity to get backstage and behind the scenes again? Thats whats being questioned here I believe. If I was given the opportunity he is being given here I would take it, not for the fact that it's Robbie Williams, he's a fair singer and he knows how to put on a show yes, but to see how a show like that goes to together technically. Believe it or not that stuff does actually interest me...

yep i'd still go the mariners.
on the other hand if I was in the same situation here it might be another story. my other team, Brentford has not won in 14 league games and are playing awful football, watching them get smashed 4-0 at home or going somewhere (anywhere else) would be attractive.
but no, serious14 makes a good point, unless you've got a very good excuse, people shouldn't pick and choose what games to go to as they are your team and need your support - besides imagine missing something extraordinary, Kwasnik scoring a hat-trick for example.

Football is life yes, but no need to criticise people on how they live that football life...
I go to every game I can, which unfortunately dosn't happen to be every game. Does that make me any less of a fan? While the backstage technical factor dosn't interest me, i can appreciate that it's a once in a lifetime experiance, and as it is relevant to studies/career choices type of thing, I could understand the dilema. Say i was going for a job as an airline pilot or something, if the once in a lifetime opportunity came up and i was offered a free flight in the cockpit with the worlds best pilot or something, I'd have to go.
I won't be able to make this weeks game due to family commitments, which sucks ass, but there are some things I feel you just have to do. Dosn't mean I am not completely devoted to the Mariners and the Marinators.

Bad Analogy!!! Captain Oveur: You ever been in a cockpit before? Spike: No sir, I've never been up in a plane before. Captain Oveur: You ever seen a grown man naked? Captain Oveur: Spikey, have you ever been to a Turkish prison
