Completely out of curiosity and with no desire whatsoever to stir or create controversy, I thought I'd post up a link to a really interesting politics quiz that's on the net. Australian Politics testIt basically asks you a set of multipl choice statement-response questions and from that takes a punt on your political leanings. It's meant to be no more than a bit of fun, and I always find it amusing to do these things because my answers change day by day. And as the page says: This page was designed for fun. If you are unhappy with the results, do not worry about it too much. The instrument has not been validated scientifically and the results could be misleading. No surprise though that it's judged me a raving lefty... Greens 87.5% Australian Democrats 82.9% Labor Party 80.6% Family First 41.8% Liberal Party 32.8% National Party 27.8% One Nation 24.9% Political outlook: -72% (Far left) Economic policy: -69.7% (Left) Social policy: -60.7% (Left) Traditional values: -95.2% (Far Left)

Greens - 31.1% Australian Democrats - 45.8% Labor Party - 48.1% Family First - 87.7% Liberal Party - 73.5% National Party - 77.5% One Nation - 77.4%
Not quite right, FFP don't get my vote (in fact the party I vote for in the senate wasn't in the game) but it got the Greens in the right position, and I'd probably put labor ahead of Dems, One Nation is obviously marginally ahead of the Greens.
Politcal Outlook - 23.1% - Centre Right (yea, sems accurate) Economic Policy - -15.5% Centre Left (WHAT? Did that say LEFT) Social Policy - 12.3% Centre (Would have tought I'd be a bit more to the right) Traditional Values - 78.9% Far Right (Didn't think I'd be that far right)
Well I for one found it interesting Dibo, thanks.

A democratic...wow, that's a surprise! My grandfather would be proud..and to think I toyed with the idea of joining the Young Conservatives in the 70s.

I am also Centre Left, which is where I thought I would be as some of my economic policy views send me there and my social views are further left.
I went over 90% for democrats and neared 90% for labour.
Thank God One Nation was a low 17%. I am a bit embarassed for Omni whose views are most aligned with One Nation.
Omni, maybe you can be Donny Parkes' campaigner for the next election?

Good find Dibo, salut
"Your broad political orientation score is -5.6%, which equates to a ‘Centre’ position" - correct "Your economic policy score score is 11.5%. This equates to a ‘Centre’ position" - correct "Your social policy score is 17.5%. This equates to a ‘Centre Right’ position" - close, I'd say pure centre but *shrug* "Your traditional values score is -65.1%. This equates to a ‘Left’ position" - I'd say so
But at the same time I somehow ended up 40% NP and 51& One-nation which is unlike me totally.... Eep.

Apparently on the Jets forum they have the same link and they all are scoring Family First Party as their 1st choice. Some are having at the respective 2nd and 3rd and some poor bastard listed his score as 'SLOPS". ;D

Mick: I was alarmed it was that high too! But at least it wasn't my number one, and is certainly at the other end of the spectrum when I vote. Like I say the party I vote for in the upper house wasn't even in the survey.
