I watched it here in Germany. It was broadcastet from Saturday 5 a.m. until Sunday 5 a.m. (our time). So I watched some bands which played in Sydney. But unfortunately, I didn't know any of these except Jack Johnson...
Are the bands that played at LiveEarth in Sydney popular and famous in Australia?

As nearly all bands that participated in the German LiveEarth concert are well known in Germany or even all around the world (like Shakira or Enrique Iglesias (not quite sure if you know him)).

Wolfmother are the "next big" aussie rock band to take over the world. The final band that played Crowded House are one of australias/new zealands all time best bands. they broke up 11 years ago and the drummer recently died so there back together with new line-up and this was there first concert. The rest were just fairly popular bands that are really only known in Australia although i think Eskimo Joe recently released there album in USA.
