i can't say i've ever looked at it with any great interest before, but i'd be surprised if it hasn't always been like that and we've just not noticed.

but on the logs for my blog, it's fair to say the vast majority of activity is and always has been guests (because i have taken notice of that) - at the moment there are 0 users logged in and 70 guests, and looking at the logs it's mostly spammers looking for a way past our blocks.

Dibo's claims about robot posters probably rings true - I bet it's the middle of the day somewhere in the USA at the moment, a perfect time to let the bots loose.

remembering that bots are bots, it won't really matter what time of day it is - they are just automatically propagated from the servers doing little data collection missions. they're just as likely to be here at noon as midnight, either our time or theirs.
