Also none of them have actual websites, only myspace (must be very youth-targeted)

Part of their advertising has been "this is a drug free event" As for the websites thing I'm pretty sure they do have real websites they've just chosen to list the myspaces of each band, hey what works works.

Omni, exactly what is wrong with Unions? Don't believe all the rubbish you hear about Trade Unions in News Ltd papers and from the Federal Government. Yes, I am honest enough to admit some Union officials are dodgy, but ALL of the conditions we Australians now enjoy at work (Sick Leave, Maternity Leave, Flexitime, Long Service Leave) were battles fought and won by Unions. I know this because my Grandfather was the Staff Union Rep when Sir Frank Murdoch (father of Rupert) was the GM of News Ltd.
You and your generation have only ever known Australia under Coalition rule, where they have SPECIFICALLY attempted to destroy Unions, when Unions actually have a rightful place in our society.
When all of you and your classmates at UWS graduate and get your first jobs, I advise you as a friend and a fellow Marinator to at least CONSIDER joining a Union, for your own benefit and safety. This is especially the case if the Coalition win the upcoming Federal election, the most important election since the end of WWII.

I just ignored the union stuff to talk about a charity concert. I have a dislike for charity events being politicised, I'd be disgusted if a Liberal Party thing was there too, it should all be for the charity, YR@W had their own concert to raise support and awareness they don't need to hit up an under 18s only concert raising funds for the local homeless shelter.
As for UWS, their incompetent web service has resulted in me failing a unit, so I doubt I will graduate now! But my life is taking a different path lately, and I believe the occupation I look like ending up in is one without a union.

Omni, couldn't you just go back and do that Unit again and get the Pass mark, and actually complete what you set out to achieve? Or transfer what passes in other Units you have onto another course if you have changed tack in what you want to do for qualifications (ie. get credit for the completed Units in a new course of study)?

I am a union member. They got me my job back when i was unfairly dismissed, and got me my pay rate increases. As well as getting my conditions adhered to.
On the other note, I know people in half those bands. It is a reasonable line up. A good initiative and should see a reasonable crowd.

The first festival of its kind on the Central Coast for kids 18 and under. I only just noticed this bit. I seem to remember a mini-festival (something like youth-fest or something) circa 1993 (?) at the old Graeme Park. Acts included Screaming Jets, and maybe tumbleweed, possibly Ratcat?? not sure. But none of them had myspace pages so i guess it is the first festival of ots kind. ;D

Well I'm kind of moving on next year, so I'd rather not stick around for one more semester to do one crap unit. That's life things happen, I've put an appeal in today and we will see what happens, out of my hands now.
