SMH has reported Mary K has left SBS news after falling out over deteriorating standards. She's a bit academic and is also one of the founding members of SBS and she's got the huff with the commercialism of the station and the new news manager (he had similar problems at TVNZ). She's a great loss but is obviously not glamourous enough for the new format!! Said on abc radio today that Mary would be meeting with SBS admin to have a chat about her concerns. I don't think it will include pumpkin scones with the tea or coffee.
Pity to see her go.

Slipping standards indeed - losing mary, gaining stan grant (who wasn't good enough for today tonight) - what's next, skipping global political news in favour of "human interest" stories, gossip and rugby league?
