But you can answer what their role would be? like any other patron - bugger all the person would be someone the marinators can look up to, use for publicity because of that person's stature, champion the marinators and even at times be a person who can get things done for the lads when asked

I want to know what Singo's reaction would be to being approached by us. So we know what we are voting for.
If he is right behind the mariners and will put in some time with us to prove it, he'll be great.
If he is only 'behind' the mariners in public as a to not look like he's all sour grapes over the NRL thing, forget him.

Thats what I aspire to!!!
You're pretty well known too, you've got more connections than the back of my PC.
Screw it, if singo isnt the right material and donny parkes isnt up for it we can just make marinator man the bloody patron, everyone looks up to him (figuratively and literally) and he is going to be more famous than ploddy the dinosaur in no time.

Otherwise...someone else. I think mick hit the nail on the head as far as their 'role', and IF Singo was agreed to it, he fits that bill EXACTLY. (in my opinion anyhow)

This was a Serious discussion about Patrons 10 minutes ago and now it's just childish tomfoolery. No your not No returns I'm gonna print this 'conversation' out and show it to Rory in about 4 years. He'll of course think his dad is a legend as he won the 'argument' cause he said 'no returns' ! nice move pieman...he had nothin after that! hahahahhahah. Of course, if we show it to Rory in about 6 years, he will think its childish!

If singo is up for it he should be the man - He is huge for PR & seems to be keen, we'll test the water with it (should he win the vote)

I don't understand why we need a patron to champion the cause. Do we really need someone famous to shout GO at the beer drinking comps?

Marinate on. Best wishes John Singleton ---------------------------------- Leave me out of this - next stop Donny Parkes
