Hello, I love joinin in at Bay 16.. it is good. I am however worried about the swearing... very coarse or near common. Many supporters have kids.. do we really need include the F word and other comments... indeed if I wish, (I think) I could ask Police to respond to this offensive language in Public.. I wn't, but might our opposing teams? Will Parents not bring the kids to the game and likely stay home themselves because of the language some find offensive. I am not asking a total Ban.. but please, wy not think of something the kids can join in on and enjoy the night rather than to cause people to stay away from the game or being a supporter. I am not an old fuddy duddy (well maybe I am), I am happy for example for people to smoke around me and swear - that is personally, but I don;'t expect the same for my kids. Please minimise the violent comments and swearing. Thanks

Yeah, good luck radio. I sort of get your drift, but we'v e already come a LONG way from the dark ole ages. What goes on now is really quiet pleasant! but, everything has a comparison, I'm comparing it to 'war in the trenches' ( back in England in the standing up days) if your'e comparing it to a family picnic...you gonna be disapointed champ !

Obvuosly I disagree... as I said I can handle it myself, but I think of the kids.. a compromise is all I am asking.. if we write some new chants, let's consider more acceptable to all. Thanks

this whole situation is no ones fault but the seating alocation organisers there should be precise seating for families and non ofencive language users and there probably is. this isnt under 14 soccer we are talking here this is adult football so if u feel your children can handle the strong language and know when it should be acceptable then by all means stay we need young blood but if not there should be many seats in either the east or west stands where family tickets are probably sold.

I can see where he is coming from in regards to the swearing, personally I am not a fan of it but to each their own Prehaps a way around it is to be on the fringes of bay 16,with the less boisterous supporters and only taking part in the signing that is without the swearing (which is most of)

Bloody hell I have been going to football for years, ever since I was 5 or 6 years old. White Hart Lane, Loftus Road and the mighty Adams Park! As my father and uncle said swearing is part of football and you have to accept it, and if you can't except it and still wanna go to the game request to go in an area where least amount of singing will be done.
Most songs and started on the spare of the moment and if the referee makes a bad decision, then yes Bay 16 will be calling him a wanker. When we play Perth, yes we will be singing songs like :
He's bald, he's scouse He'll rob your f***ing house.
I understand a lot of people don't like swearing but at the end of the day it's just a word.

Personally, I'm more offended by someone lighting up a fag and having kids (and me) choke on the smoke. That's particularly irritating when you've already got a sore throat from singing you lungs out for the boys.
I agree swearing can go to far, but it the tone of it, not the words themselves that can be offensive, although I respect those Church-going types who think 'bloody' and damn' are naughty words.
As for kids and swearing - they get worse at pre-school and off that crap 'Big Brother' show anyway.

I think it was said all along, bay 16 is not for everyone. There will be lots of drinking and swearing, it's all part of the experience ;D I don't think we go overboard with the swearing anyway.

dont puff your chests out and talk about the good ol days. In the good old days swearing in public wasnt considered a criminal offence so times have changed.
There was a post on this before, change your ways to increase the fan base, or this league \ club wont last long.

Obvuosly I disagree... as I said I can handle it myself, but I think of the kids.. a compromise is all I am asking.. If your looking for a compromise, i feel thats a good idea. Compromise bay 16 mate with your kids and sit up near the palm trees , i dont think you would hear all the swearing with the traffic going by.

thats wishful thinking my friend... a football match is the perfect time to air frustrations.if you cant deal with the language perhaps you should leave the kids at home.

Things are said at football matches on the spare of the moment, people not swearing just won't happen!
Kids hear worse swear words at school compared to a Mariners game.
Everyone is entitled to their opinion on this but if everyone is to honest there will always be swearing.
