Can't believe I'm saying it considering today's events, but I've gotta concur with Sacko. "Yellow football team" is very apt (and short if it's just the chorus) but in saying that, let the songs evolve. The more and the wittier (and shortish and not too prosaic) the better.

I had difficulty with long words like Mariners and Marinators.

I really like mr celerys song , but i feel some of you verses mick could add to the song, so maybe combine it.

But i feel it needs the words, we all follow a yellow football team, and not submarine.

definately needs the word marinator in there, since its suppose to be our theme song.

it does have yellow football team - the only reference to submarine was the second posting where the original lyrics are

ok, what i'll do is give it to a friend of mine who is really brilliant at coming up with different lyrics to a tune

she did a great job doing an anti-VSU song for us

then i will post it up for thoughts

MM, once its 'set in concrete' as it were, would the stadium put the lyrics on the big screen (when the marinators start singing it before the game, half time etc) so everyone can join in do you think?

I'd say we'd have to give it some time to sink in before we start asking questions like that. Who know's if it will even catch on with the marinators yet?

We'll get it out there once its finalised and everyone who is regular on here we can poll them to see what they think.

It will be great, and it doesnt cost any money and it will bring some fresh convo.
