After being inspired by Marinator Man my wife who is a professional graphic designer is currently designing a logo for the Marinators.
Coupled with Adz and Mr Celery's brilliance in web design the Marinators should have a super product in about a month's time.
Which gives me an idea:
The Marinators should have a launch night of our logo and website. we can invited the media, the players, and club officials, as well as all of us.
I've spoken to Charles at the club and he would be happy to set us up with a lecturn, microphone, and projector in the Kendall Bar for the event.
Would be a great and positive event for the Marinators.
Thoughts?

Sounds great Mick - great way for everyone to catch up and a few drinks too.
I like the idea of having our own logo - I missed out on the CWC Marinators T-Shirt so I don't wanna miss out on the next 1

Great Idea. It will give us a chance of gaining new supporters and hopefully fill Bay16 when the comp starts. Also, what about ads for supporters in the local papers?
Keep us informed.

Excellent idea. I'll be there with bells on.
Another idea for the night or maybe sometime soon after would be some kind of small item with the logo on it that we can sell to everyone there. What I mean is - the 100 shirts are currently the unofficial members tag for a marinator and not everyone was able to get one, so if we had armbands or head bands or bandanas or hats or scarves or whatever that had the logo on it people could not only be identified as a Marinator at the game but as they walked around in their daily lives.
Does anybody have any connections to make something like this?

good question - we might have to make it some where else so that under 18s can come Mick your a legend. Well done son. Ask charles for one of the small board rooms instead for the launch and then those who are over 18 can adjourn into the kendall bar to wet the head of the birth of the marinators after the launch. I suggest a yellow cap, with the logo and marinators embroded on there in yellow. On the back of the cap you could have Mariners supporter. perhaps mick we could have marinators membership fees to pay for the intial order of stock and i think perhaps a marinators logo badge. to put on caps or shirts or collars what ever anyone wears daily outside of football. The badge would signify marinator membership. Sing out if you need help cause professionally i am in marketing. Fundraising is my specialty. Have been fundraising for soccer on the coast for about the last 12 years

Great idea as usual MM. I noticed there is another thread just been started regarding the use of some kind of Skull and Bones image. The chant 'Skull and Bones, 'Skull and Bones, 'Skull and Bones, ..." did seem to be popular, would that be incorporated into a marinators theme? Would love to see a selection of 'Marinators' items for sale also. If I can be of any assistance?...

Great ideas one and all!
The Marinators web site can be designed to accommodate it all. If Adz and I have our shit together it would be great to have a merchandising section on the site where you can order gear, etc. Funds to go to big banners, flags, etc. or could run it through a fundraising group for a worthy charity such as Canteen, etc.
Love the idea of a launch at the Club. we could invite other supporters groups and really rub it in! ;D

Keep the ideas coming in guys - maybe there is a feature of another site you would like to see added/adapted to fit ours.. we will definately need a lot of people to help keep the content fresh, whether that be from writing reviews on the game, the pub after/before the game, the dodgy kebab guy.. whatever added to your gameday experience.. lots of photos.. everyone will get a chance to have some input As for marinator gear, I'm not too keen on going overboard with that.. would rather people spend their hard earned on official Mariner stuff if anything.. love the enthusiasm though ;D

Everyone's desire to grow into the most powerful supporting machine in the country is enough for them to open their pockets for our projects.

Maybe that range available could be displayed on the new website for people to choose from? That way none of the marinators 'heirachy' is responsible for holding 'stock' or having to pay up front for supporters orders etc. Thoughts?

Just so people can feel like a Marinator all the time without having to wear a shirt.

I was involved with the Barmy army many years ago and they were sponsored by Mitisubishi as the Aussie cricket team were sponsored by Toyota!
Have you approached anyone about sponsorship? they could pay for signage if there name was put on it? (don't ask me as I'm skint)
with the coverage you guy's got a banner would be cheap advertising.
